I went to college to do fashion...im now a fine art specialist

I know nothing about nursing but i do know that a fashion managment course is not fun acording to epople i know doing it, but study course guides and critirias and talk to lecturers about it.

I started to do nursing as an Access course. I did the first year or so 'in the classroom' with no problem. I found it really fascinating. Then I started on the work experience. I did 2 weeks with the old people (was meant to do 6 but couldn't stand it), then I did 4 weeks on the paediatric ward (which I also hated), then I followed with 4 weeks in the gynaecology clinic which was great if not a bit minging I also attended an autopsy and wanted to finish off my work experience in the morgue but wasn't allowed As I was doing the work experience I realised that nursing wasn't for me 'cos I don't like ill people - hee hee

All I can say is give it ago and see how you get on. I'm glad I did the Access course before commiting myself to uni. As it is now, I'm going back to college in September to do a bit more biology and take a massage and reflexology course

i don't know about those subjects, but i had 2 to choose from when i went to uni. i think i made the wrong choice (maths instead of physics), didn't choose what i really wanted but what i saw as better; never really got into the course (still had an awesome time for 3 years tho!). i think that the important thing with life is choose what it is that you want to do, go with what you know you want, then do it as hard as you can.. have fun

I work in Visual Merchandising, which may kind of relate to the fashion course.
I did a HND in Display & Exhibition Design at college. It covered a wide range of subjects, which was great preparation for a career in merchandising & marketing.
My job now is to identify, design & develop the visual impact of our stores. This is everything from window displays & signage to techniques to persuade and influence people to buy.

I studied Textile Design and Design Management (kinda fashion), at UMIST. I loved the course and found it very interesting, but it was extremely difficuly to secure a job in a relevant field on graduation. If I could go back I wouldn't change my first degree, but would love to have enough money now to do a postgrad course that is a little more, well... relevant.

My sister's friend was not suited to nursing and hated it. I'd recommend going for the course you really want to do, as it will be three years well spent then. Also, anything with management in it can be useful in a multitude of careers.
