think you call the police for untaxed cars, not sure about caravans though.

Caravans and where they're dumped..
Does anyone know what the legal situation with parking/storing a caravan is? Theres 3 of them sat in the parking spaces in our street which means that I have to park the car at the other end of the road. They've been there for months and it's now bugging me (now that I've got a car 
) There's also a couple of old untaxed cars sitting there as well. Who do I contact about getting it all moved?? And can I actually get the caravans moved(I seem to remember hearing that it's illegal to have a caravan parked on the road)??

Call the police and the council I'd guess...
Quicker and easier, get a can of petrol, a box of matches...

Just found this on the Highway code website.
224. Cars, goods vehicles not exceeding 1525kg unladen, invalid carriages and motorcycles may be parked without lights on a road (or lay-by) with a speed limit of 30 mph or less if they are
●at least 10 metres (32 feet) away from any junction, close to the kerb and facing in the direction of the traffic flow
●in a recognised parking place or lay-by. Other vehicles and trailers, and all vehicles with projecting loads, MUST NOT be left on a road at night without lights.
Law RVLR reg 24
239. You MUST NOT park in parking spaces reserved for specific users, such as Orange Badge holders or residents, unless entitled to do so.
Law RTRA sects 5 & 8

I rang the local council to have a dumped car removed before

Yes, we are aware that there is still no monthly smilie for April. We are working on it and we are having a staff meeting next week and this will be one of the items no doubt.

Pikeys! Gah! What a pain in the ass!
We get them a lot in the car park next to the office lot. Majority of the time if you catch someone that owns it, you can ask them to shift it and they would move it.
But yeah, call the council and the cop shop...

its a council and poilce thing to get things removed, we had a lot of that stuff when i was working in the council.....uuuuuh, bad memories

Tusk if only he looked like him, I wouldn't be sat here now, I'll tell ya.Anyway, on the subject, we had this prob, and the council and envoirmental health should sort it, I suggest a strong worded letter to the above. (That's the council & E-health, not gooner btw)

If its a council area then you should get quicker action from the council. Try the environmentional department, they should have a dumped cars officer. Especially note down the lack of tax disc or even how old the tax discs are. It gets a quicker response around this way as we normally get ones that are about 6months out of date, and they act quicker if they are older I notice.
The best you can expect is having a 2 week notice slapped on the car. If the driver can be traced he'll either be persuaded to tax it (he can't declare it sorn on a public street) or to have it removed.
Luckily there's only ever been one dumped car set fire to around here in the 9 years we've been here. And we weren't even here that weekend to witness it
