I've not been here, in an actual active way, for a long long time.

I came on here today to find my favourite website, the one place where anyone could go and talk to other, like-minded, or completely different-minded people about their problems, their... ummmm....... goodlems and just life in general, and maybe occasionally talk about TV to justify why we're all on this Sci-Fi website.

This seems to have all gone, i look at these boards as an outsider now because of the length of time i have been away, and this is no longer a happy place where people can all get together and chat in the.... errrrm... chat room until the very wee hours of the morning, could skip doing homework and waste their lives talking to people who they had never met before, or, shock horror, had met. they had met people off the internet and not one person had been stolen or raped or killed. It was a lovely safe place where you could make friends, whether it be because you didn't really have friends in real life, or because you wanted more, because you wanted to talk to these people every night on the internet, ignoring your MSN contacts for people who you don't see in real life every day.

I sound like someone talking and a wake, talking about the good old days, how it used to be, and I feel a little bit like that. Because i realised today that i joined Buffyuk when i was 12 going on 13. I am now 16 going on 17 (next month, check the calender - cheques only please ). I grew up (all you oldies can now say that at the age of almost 17 I am not grown up, but just for argument's sake, let's pretend that I am, that I've seen it all, ok? It'll make this argument loads better, i swear) with you people, you strangers, you (potential) axe murderers.

This post shouldn't be a wake, it should be an aWAKEning (*P*U*N* *K*I*N*G*) to all those people who don't go into the chatroom anymore (this includes me). Go in there, go on, go talk to some old friends again, and not just the ones that are on your MSN list because you get on with them best out of everyone, just talk to us all. Talk to the new ones, talk to the old ones. Let's make this website (i sorta went off at a tangent here (*P*U*N* *K*I*N*G*) as this post was supposed to be about talking in the chatroom) what it used to be. let's be a close knit community again. Close knit communities do not talk completely on messageboards, you need a bit of IRC too, so get IRCing. Get mIRC if you don't have it, if you do, get onto irc.tangent21.com and then onto #tangent21.
