I think it's only a month if you're salaried. I only gave 1 week at my last job and that was 39 hours a week hourly paid.

You should be able to give just one weeks notice Barbara. You don't *have* to give notice legally it's just polite but if I was your boss i'd accept a weeks notice.

Notice will vary a lot according to the job, check the terms you signed when you joined. For a job like this (5 hours/week at a store) a week is probably all that's expected, though if you're on good terms with the management more would be polite. The times vary a bit, but for regular part-time work a month is more common; for full time, esp in proffessions, 3 months is the norm; some execs will typically be on 6 months notice.

i'm only working 16 hours a week, meant to give 2 weeks notice. i will be doing that soon if my interview on tuesday goes well. linearly interpolated for your hours that would be 4.375 days notice (sorry, i did study maths, promise to stop..)

It'll be in your contract, but I expect it's one week.

1 or 2 weeks mostly.

Will have to do this soon (when i get a new job) as they cut my hours.

It does seem a lot for a Saturday job, Do you have a contract it should say in that.

There's a tacky little 'Employee Handbook' and it had it in there.

I hope I earn more if I get this job-I'm on £3.70 at the moment, it went down to that from £3.70 as the company were trying to save costs or something.
