I had to read Flog Lume several times to work out what was wrong with it

I muddle stuff up all the time, especially when I'm getting het up about something. I also read things wrongly (for ages I used to think the Switch/cashpoint/cheque cards were malfunction cards, instead of multifunction) and I forget the words for everyday things - spent ages trying to describe the things when I forgot the word for trees once !!

One me and my mum always seem to say wrong is meter reading, it always comes out reader meeting for some reason.

I have found myself to be stuttering and muddling up words quite a lot recently too, and it annoys the hell out of me and makes me feel stupid, so I can appreciate how you're feeling.

My exes parents used to make me do the tongue twister:
I'm not a pheasant plucker
I'm a pheasant plucker's son
I'm only plucking pheasants
Til the pheasant pluker comes

and I used to always say it wrong, maybe that was down to drink tho

Rather depressingly, I find it way easier and less nerve-wracking to do presentations, meetings etc without (too much) stuttering, stammering, umming etc than asking someone out...

I love that one. i can do it quite well too Tho the bevies do have an effect

Um, I think one of my favs is the classic slip by an old chum of mine who was describing someone as 'virginal' and on pronounciation it come out as... a word indicating something rather different. You can guess, I think.

Oops!

I've been doing it loads over the last two days - which is problematic seeing as I do telesales and I'm supposed to inspire confidence in my clients!

Plus the only way I can get out of it is to go "blerrgghhh" and shake my head a bit to reset - People laugh

I can't think of any particularly amusing examples just yet, but i'll get back to you when i do!

Joel loves swapping his words around, makes him laugh like a drain...

And the forgetting what you were saying, or forgetting midsentence... happens to me all the time... the effect of having two children....

Our family favourite is a spoonerism of that old tv prog - the Krypton Factor - which came out as Krapton Fyctor!

i mix up words and sounds sometimes..i've also gotten intot he habit of coming out with W instead of R...my mum thinks it's cuz i talk really fast once i get started and slur my words so that i kind of run everything to together.

Okay my ex-girlfriend does loads of these...some examples..

1) When trying the old joke 'What do cow's drink' she turned round and said "I know this, grass!!!" - LMAO oh yes

2) When trying to explain her answer to the cow joke she said "It's just because i'm not talking before i speak"(she meant to say thinking instead of talking)

3) When trying to explain the plot behind a tv series she told us a guy who was in a coma was a 'carrot'..she meant to say vegetable

I could do this all day...
