I was going to buy mine a cookery book called 'Manchester Chefs' but couldn't find it.
So I'm buying her a big bunch of flowers instead!
Have a look in a department store and perhaps buy her a gift set of perfume etc? or a voucher for a facial or manicure?

I don't have a mum to buy for. But Abby is quite bouncy, asking me if I'm looking forward to Sunday
And I'm pretty sure if I play my cards right, I'll get breakfast cooked for me for a change! (Right guys? )

SPIKE: A gift voucher, or a book token if that's the kind of thing that she likes
I got my Mother's Day gifts last weekend: Gladiator and The Big Boss DVD's .
My mum loves Disney vids, so we'll probably get her Cinderella 2 and my mum in law i got a candle impregnated with dried roses and some rose scented pot-pourri from Past Times

I'm at Nos this weekend, so at the suggestion of another Mother, i'm probably going to get Interflora to send my Mum some flowers in my absence.
Interflora are pretty expensive, I've used the site below a few times now and the recipients have always been impressed

need to get my mum something...i'm 15 and this is the first year i've bought something myself.. i'll have to amke extra cool
I was pulling my hair out trying to think of something to get, when I got a text message from my Sister asking if I wanted to go halves on something she'd found! Woo-hoo! I love my sister!
Well I'm stuck - what do you buy a 72 year old Mum? She doesn't want flowers or chocolates or plants, she doesn't go out or wear perfume, she has enough ornaments to open a china shop and rarely watches films.
Its my first mothers day as a Mum as well and Len asked me what I wanted and again, I haven't a clue.....
Problem is on my first mothers day Len is doing a Martial Art Tournament - he can't get out of it as he's an official and my baby Georgia is staying over at Aunty Sue's. So I'll just make do with the peace and quiet and have a lie in. Not had one of those in over a year

mother's day has annoyed me this year. it's always been after my birthday... this year it's before. ergo, i'm broke... grrr
solution - homemade mother's day card and a stuffed toy... my mother *loves* that stuff! lol

Ask her what she wants And even if you can't buy anything, or think of anything in time, just be with her, pamper and love her, because although this may sound corny, love is the best gift of all
I don't think this is corny at all. All too often people forget that time spent with loved ones is more appreciated than expensive presents. I know I haven't particulary spent enough time with family of late and this Sunday gives me even more of a reason to make up for it.

As to presents, mothers always appreciate a handmade gift. I know my mum always loves the little sewn gifts I make for her.
i've tried that and got a clip round the ear for not getting her a present, it doesn't work. ni'm gonna have a gange in a minute and see if i can get a cheap cd from somewhere.

Well my mum politely threatened me, not to waste my money on cards and pressies - she has always thought it a waste of money and a gimmick!
I went mad at her, then turned to my husband, and told him exactly the same thing, and that a lie in at the weekend, and him keepping our 4 boys quiet, is all the pressies for Mother's day that I need!
Somehow I doubt keeping 4 boys under 8yrs old quiet, is actually possible though!
