And if you don't find any out there that you like or that do what you think they should do (like get the time right *rolls eyes*), you could always take the option I chose and just write your own.
The downside of this is that the "My Friends'Posts" pages of LJ and DJ have become the only pages that "busy" people read, and if you're not on there then your posts only get read at night, or once a week -- or worse, possibly never found at all (and not always because they don't know you have a J). The answers are (as more and more people seem to be doing) to either double-post or post a link on LJ to your real post on your chosen J.

In a similar-but-completely-different vein (ie not bloggy at all!), everyonesconnected which is solely geared towards friend-of-a-friending.
I've just tried joining and one slight problem with it seems to be that you can't complete your registration unless you already know someone who's registered, so I'm not entirely sure how they attract new members who aren't already known by existing members?
