I have always believed that on some level the majority of relationships have an element of sexuality to them - not always all the time - but certainly on occasion. You only have to watch very young children almost flirting with the opposite sex parent to see that.

So yes, I would say that either consciously or not, most people have had thoughts of a sexual nature concerning their friends.
