Birthday outing help

Chris was telling me the other day he never does anything for his birthday, and it made me feel really bad and I want to take him out somewhere now. The thing is, I'm really short of ideas. I don't have alot of money to spend, and we're going out for a meal on my birthday so that's out the question. So really, I need somewhere cheap, acessable and a during the day thing that I can take him to. And it has to be within Essex/London and under 18's. So has anyone got any ideas as I have none myself

if in london go to Namco's right next to the london eye its a huge arcade place with pool, bumper cars, bowling and playing machines. ive been on a few occasions always a good laugh and you dont HAVE to spend a lot of money.
