Mmmmm rugby players!
The boys did good
Ok so I only just got up but what great news to get up to
England 20 Australia 17
And can I just say Mmmmmmm rugby players over footballers anytime

Didn't watch it, but congratulations to the boys Go Johnny Wilkinson, who just happens to play for the Newcastle Falcons
Well I didn't know what the score was but that's good. Means I can take the piss out of my manager at work - he was really rooting for Australia ('cause he's Australian) and he was saying last night that we were gonna lose.

The greatest rugby match I have ever had the privilege of watching!
It's 1966 all over again..and to think people sometimes wonder why the English get a bad rep in sport
Apologies for actually celebrating winning the World Cup

Nah..hell congrats on doing it...*but*, I may be being slightly pessimistic about this but I'll not be surprised to be reminded about this *everytime* England play rugby in the future.

You don't hear Italy or Brazil banging on about winning the World Cup three times each yet English fans still crow about winning it once almost 50 years ago..talk about living off past glories.
On the rugby note though, if Wilkinson stays injury free England could dominate international rugby for the next 10 years. Not looking forward to the next time Scotland plays them cos we're going to get absolutley thrashed.
No harm in celebration, just a bit boring when they go on for it for 40 years. Fair enough, congrats and all that, but there's no need to string it out. Now when the footie team do it, then I'll be impressed.

I wholeheartedly agree with the whole '66 thing, I'd rather the team *now* come up with something to crow about
Still though, no need to worry about that until next year at the earliest.

Im glad they won, I bet they dont get paid as much for winning as the footballers who lost in the world cup.
The boys did good indeed!
I didn't get the opportunity to watch it properly first time through as I was helping Gooner and Mishelisa to move house (what a day to pick!).
If it weren't for the silly mistakes the win would have been more convincing. But, hell, a win is a win
Arise sir Johnny!

Milky I think the reason we don't hear Italy and Brazil banging on about their sucesses is because a)we live so far away b) we don't speak their languages
We gotta remember the time we won something!

Hell yeah! That Jason Robinson ?(the one who scored the Try anyway) is well fit *drools*

Speaking of '66, did you know that the football final in 66 went to extra time after a last minute equaliser from the Germans. Then Hurst (who was wearing the number 10 jersey) scored that famous last minute goal in extra time.
Interesting comparison with the Rugby final. Last minute equaliser from the Australians to push the game to extra time, then a last minute winner from the Guy wearing the No 10 shirt

Why the comparisons, its two very different sports

Interesting comparison with the Rugby final.
Most rugby fans wont be ramming the 2003 win down your throat for the next 37 years. Why is that, well because in the rugby we actually stand a good chance of winning something else in the interim.
