Techie Type Question.

I post at a few boards under this nickname as you know.

Since i got virussed a while back i make a point of emptying my temporary Internet files once a month or so.

The passwords for all the boards that i visit are stored so when i type in my nickname, the password comes up automatically.

Now there's one site that lets me log in, but won't let me post. I log in, i get recognised, but when i read a thread and maybe want to post, then i'm told i'm unregistered. I log back in but when i go back to post, i'm unregistered again, it's like it has Alzheimers.

I have tried everything, setting cookie settings to default, re-registering. The webmaster swears that their boards are okay. Another board that i post on uses the exact same set up, graphics etc and i have no problems with that site. So why not this one?

Previously since i got my new virus protection and i've emptied my temp internet files, i've gotten back into that site no problems, it won't let me in now and it seems i'm the only one with this problem. I am utterly confused and very frustrated.

Any ideas? and in blonde-speak please

Still sounds like a cookie problem to me. (you sure you don't have a cookiemonster around?)

In IE (presuming you use that) you can add a site to override your cookie setting.
Tools --> Internet option --> Privacy --> Edit --> Enter the url of the website and hit allow.

Hopefully this will do the trick.

Are you running anything like a firewall or Internet security software?

I have Norton Antivirus. Also Norton Personal Firewall.

The thing is, i've been able to post on the site without any problems before and after i got NAV installed. Now i can't. I can log in and be recognised, but if i read a thread and want to post, i'm classed as unregistered again and this has never happened before now.
