Uni

I've applied to study midwifery. Got rejected from UWE, Oxford Brookes and Southampton.

I've had interviews at Kingston and Kings College this week. Waiting to hear from them, I'll be surprised if I get in Kings but I don't want to go to Kingston, didn't like the campus that much and its hard to get to. All I have is a Middlessex interview in March. And Hertfordshire.

I think I still want to be a midwife, I'm not sure. If I don't get in I could apply via clearing for a degree near home, take a year out and get a job, or stay at college for another year.

All my friends have got into uni so easily, trust me to pick a really competitive course!

I wanted to do midwifery but chose to do the 3 yr nursing course first and then take a 1 yr midwifery course. As it turned out as soon as I started the work placements I realised that I didn't like sick people, lol. I dropped the idea after that

LOL!

I applied for midwifery rather than nursing as pregnant women aren't actually treated as ill (apart from if they are actually ill) and its seen as a natural process rather than nursing which is all about sick people.

eughhhh blood and women's vagina's. I may happen to be a woman but I wouldn't wanna poke around down there on some poor woman. My sister is at Oxford Brookes, don't worry its pretty pants. My mate is at Kingston and he finds it ok, he likes the nightlife. Good luck, hun x

DJ Billy You can't really dust for vomit.

Hope the midwifery works out, but if it doesn't I'd recommend nursing. I've worked in mental health for the past year and a lot of the students who come to our unit on placements apply for, and get jobs there.

If you go on into the community then it's quite possible to become an F grade within 2 years of qualifying too

I would imagine that the course would set you on good stead for the basis of many types of nursing if you decided that its not for you.

You seem keen though, and society are always going to be popping out babies (unless technology allows women to start growing them in big tubes

) so it's going to be a popular choice
