Not so much recently as an ongoing pitch battle with the scum.
Basically, back in September 2000, I got cut off. When I rang the helpdesk during the day I could not get through. On the one occasion I did get through I got transferred to a non-existent number and was kicked out the system. Ringing the number out of hours put you through to a answerphone system where you were asked to leave a message if you had no dial tone or you TV signal was dead (ie - complete loss of service). I lost count of how many times I left a message without answer. I eventually stopped my direct debit in the hope this might get someone's attention.
It didn't. After two months with no service, and increasing bills, I got hold of the number for a sales rep for my area and asked him to sort it out. The line was back in two days. However, as my mobile phone bill had trebled for two months, and because I refused to pay for two months of no service, I refused to reinstate the DD until they credited my account accordingly. Again, I've lost count of how many people I've explained this to. I'm sick of being told that this time they will sort it out. They eventually cut me off for non-payment, and have passed the debt to a debt collection agency, despite me telling them of my change of address, and that I will pay my arrears once they've credited me for the loss of service. Predictably, all the threats of court action are still being sent to my old address.
Problem is, if you want cable/sky TV, then you either get a Sky dish (not always practical when renting) or an NTL line. As for Telecoms, it's either NTL or BT. And BT are no better, just more costly.
You just can't win!
(Phew! Rant over!)
