Essentially, my music tastes fossilised in the 80s and 90s. Long standing favourites include Springsteen, Bryan Adams, Iron Maiden, Heart, T'Pau etc. Recent interests include Bowling for Soup and Blink 182. Oddly, I have also recently developed a taste for some country and western music (e.g. Garth Brooks, Shania Twain, Jo Dee Messina, Lee Ann Womack)

All of the above. Typically, using my 40GB MP3 jukebox or MP3s stored on PC, even for tracks from CDs I own - it's just easier to find MP3s on the hard disks than to find the actual CDs.

Finding the music interesting is part of finding the video interesting. A good video helps sell a good song to me but won't rescue something I simply don't like.

Usually, by the time I come to buy a CD, I either know the performer well or have heard a fair bit of their material. The cover's only purpose is to identify the CD I'm looking for!

I despise the increasing prevalence of copy-protected discs. I have made a point of not buying any (which weren't already known to be crackable). As I mainly listen to my music in MP3 format (I usually only play the CDs I buy a few times before ripping them), any CD I can't easily rip to MP3 and put on my jukebox is of very little use to me. Copy-protected CDs have effectively pushed me in the direction of illegal downloads on a number of occasions.

The new music download services are a step in the right direction but I expect them to permit me to enjoy the same freedoms to listen to my music tracks as I currently enjoy. In general, I find the restrictions on usage (especially copying to MP3 players) unacceptable.

Bought the new Dido & still haven't listened to it cos of the copy protection.
The only CD player I have at the moment is in my computer, and I only use that to rip the CD's to MP3...
Everywhere else I use my MP3 jukebox...

One of the few copy protected discs I bought was an album of remixed 1920s Shanghai Chinese music (!) - I'd read how the copy protection could be bypassed but, just for a laugh, decided to see what would happen if I simply played it in my laptop. Imagine my surprise when the sucker simply played. All the way through. Hell, it even ripped without a hitch. Something tells me EMI should wuz robbed! Yet, somehow, I just can't seem to care...
