Those of you who've read Philip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials' trilogy will remember the concept of daemons. For those of you who haven't, a daemon is a kind of physical manifestation of the soul in animal form. Children's daemons change shape, but adults' daemons settle into one form which reflects the person's personality and status in life.

So come on guys - what would your daemons be?

I chose my name White Hart because it's the name of the pub where I live, but thinking about it more I realised that a white hart (type of deer) is quite appropriate for me - I'm fairly timid and quite shy a lot of the time, but I can stand up for myself if I need to. Alternatively, someone once said I reminded them of a seal - the quiet thing again I suppose, and I do like swimming!
