whenever my supervisor isn't in i leave work 2 hours early and i did this for 2 years when we didn't have a supervisor it was great, also i sued to skive off school but had to hide in the garden shed all day incase my mum or dad came home at lunch time, i used to freeze in the winter. i am tempted to get on a train to scotland instead of going to work one day though and not tell anyone.
Skiving....
......which is exactly what I'm doing at the moment at work.
And I've found myself doing this quite a lot recently, playing about with the net.
So, it got me thinking. Apart from being online when you're at work, has anyone else skived off in the past? And I don't just mean 5 minutes here or there.
When I was about 17, and worked at Tescos, I did a bunk and spent the entire day lazing in a near-by field with some friends. Went back at the end of the day and swiped out. No one ever knew
(Btw, as a disclaimer, I'm not encouraging anyone to do anything disclosed in this thread in the future!)

When working in Debenhams I would often go down to the Duvet stockroom & build a bed (I kept them in the wrappers)
I once spent ove 4 hours down there

Unfortuantely we don't get much time skiving but when there is time, me and my supervisor wander round the store looking at the cds amd dvds and finding fit memebrs of staff to harrass and generally cop a feel of
I've done this so many times it's a joke!! When I worked at Disney me and a friend used to go down the pub at lunchtime and drink as many lagers as possible before returning to work 2 hours late and half cut! Another time we went on a 2 day shopping spree, complete with manicure, pub lunchs and serveral pints of lager.
Of course now I'm older and wiser I never skive.

Well, I work in Waitrose and have a good time hiding in the warehouse for long periods of time Its like a labyrinth in there...they can never find me
Well I used to when i worked for other people.
Cold here, flur there, migrane or two now and again.
Now however i work for myself. If i dont work, i dont eat. It's a great motivator.
Even when ill the most time i've taken off is an afternoon. (excpet for holidays when i arrange cover)

Cant skive in the job I have now, they moniter how long we're on the phone every day have to be on them for six hours every day and a certain amount of hours over the month, if you skive you have to make it up latter......bad news (Im already nearly two hours short this month already!)
Well, when i have nothing better to do at work i'm often found on here, though generally not during normal working hours (i really can't bring myself to view a 7am start as normal )
I have skived in previous jobs, playing on the migraines i used to get loads, but i don't do that anymore. Growing up or feeling responsible or something equally boring

I keep on ending up on the net when I should be working (usually here ), although as I'm in an office on my own I probably don't spend any more time than I used to spend chatting to people before I had my own office.
Other than that, not really - well, never at school and workwise the closest I've got is phoning in sick with fairly minor things (or hangovers ) when I've been in jobs I didn't like. University was another story though, but you can't call yourself a student if you actually go to lectures, can you?
