Buffy, Angel & Spike UK TV interviews

This was previous mentioned on the Halloween event announcements, but this is taken from BBC website

Boreanaz and Marsters on breakfast show tomorrow.

A quick note to all you early birds - David Boreanaz and James Marsters will be popping into GMTV tomorrow (Thursday) morning to chat with presenters Kate Garroway and Andrew Castle.

The pair are over in the UK for this weekend's huge Halloween convention in London.

You should be able to catch David and James somewhere between 7am and 8.25am.

Also over to promote her new film Sarah Michelle Gellar is being interviewed on Jonathan Ross

Over to publicise her latest film The Grudge, which opens in the UK next month, Sarah will appear on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross on 29 October.

How will Sarah cope with Woss's razor sharp wit? Not to mention spending time cooped up in the green room with fellow guests Barbara Windsor and Geri Halliwell?

Personally, we just can't wait for Jonathan's resident singers, Four Poofs and a Piano, to give their rendition of the Buffy theme tune, or something else apt.

Also appearaing on TV in the UK are David Boreanaz and James Marsters.

Over for the Halloween event, David and James will be in the MTV studio for an interview on 29 October. Check listings for when the interview will air.

It'll more likely be the Scooby-Doo theme, as it's more recognisable.

Erm, well, I would have thought SMG would be more associated with Buffy (a show which spanned six years) than two lack lustre movies. I mean, go up to most people who have heard of her and ask where they know her from, what do you reckon the answer would be?

From what I read elsewhere on the net, the GMTV thing will be re-scheduled as apparently David changed his flight or something

All very true. But if you go up to most people and ask them to sing the Buffy theme, and then ask them to sing the Scooby Doo theme, I reckon there'd be a lot more who'd be able to sing the Scooby Doo theme.

Hardly. Do you really believe the average Townie Joe or Jolene on the street has even heard of Buffy, let alone have any clue what it's about or any of its actors or songs?

Compare that to the major Hollywood promotional campaign that was splattered across everything and their child a few summers ago with a brand name popular enough to ring bells in even the most jaded anti-cult individual's memory?

Yeah, more people will recognise Scooby-Doo, even if they don't remember her dire performance in it.

Erm, yes I would, actually. I quote from a TV guide tonight:

"Buffy actress Sarah Michelle Gellar joins in the fun as she chats to Jonathan (Ross)."

It doesn't say "Scooby-Do actress".

You don't have to be a die-hard fan to have heard of Buffy or know that SMG was in it. I would suggest that a lot of people were casual fans who caught the odd episode here or there when it has the teatime slot on BBC2.

After all, we're not talking about one of the side characters here, are we?

So, while not meaning to labour the point, I stand by what I say.

And surely you've just made my point for me? That more people will remember her for Buffy? If I had a house, I'd bet it on Nerf Herder's ditty being played.

I accidentally caught the end of SMG's bit on Jonathan Ross last night. It was quite entertaining. She did seem very bemused though, and you know she probably did mean it when she said she wouldn't come back on the show.

So what did the poofs sing when she came on then?

I though DB and JM came across as quite amusing on T4. I almost peed myself laughing when the big chicken came on and DB jumped about 100ft in the air. I also LOL'd at JM saying to the chicken..

"Oh no, what are you doing, he knows kung fu!"
