Commiserations to Jazz & co. I had all my guitar stuff nicked out the back of a car when I was at uni. At the time it represented 90% of everything I owned and it was all gone. Needless to say I was a bit narked to say the least. I made some attempt at finding the stuff by traipsing round the local second hand shops but I never found any of it. Of course I had it insured... except there was an exclusion for theft from an unattended motor vehicle so I never got a penny.
Of course, given that I currently own 5 guitars, it could be said that I've over compensated...
I hope the kit RTC lost wasn't irreplaceable and the insurance pays out.
Do you have serial numbers on the guitars? It's really the only way of tracking them
Theives might be stupid enough to sell on ebay, but I'd wager "Cash Converters" is the more likely end point for this sort of gear. If you haven't already give them along with all the local guitar shops a call to see if they surface in the next couple of days.
I probably don't need to tell you but, also put the word out on the local scene because most musos would recognise that sort of gear and put 2 and 2 together.

I saw Jazz yesterday and he said he was going on the radio last night to appeal. Hopefully that'll turn something up
Good plan. I guess the thieves would try to sell them in my area aswell so when I'm next near record shops, I'll have a check around. Hope everything turns up. Can you claim on the car insurance?

They can only claim £250 but have to pay a £100 excess. Not worth them losing their no claims bonus for £150. And no the equipment wasn't insured They never usually leave it in the van but were gonna insure everything when their grant from the music council thingy came through.

The two Les Pauls have been found They were sold to a music shop in High Barnet and the guy saw the RTC logos, found the website and read about the theft. At least that's some good news.
The Lucille and the Gibson were Jazzs only two guitars (apart from the two accoustics) so I guess they were. His sister is giving him the money (i.e. a lot!) to buy a new 'proper version' of one of them. The only way I can think of to describe how it works is that Mui Mui is the cheaper version of Prada and the one that got stolen was Mui Mui and now he's getting Prada, lol. I don't understand guitars. They all look and sound the same to me (apart from the colours )

That's great hun, were they a big part of the equipment in the band?
I didn't know Prada made guitars
Did the bloke in High Barnet have any info on who sold them to him?

There's a name and address but whether he was stupid enough to give real details we don't know yet.

Hmm, it might be worth Jazz sending details of the rest of his gear to other stores in North London and Essex to see if they've offloaded any of it elsewehere.

Completely understand, must be a girl thing. I've passed the info onto Matt, incase he and his friends see any of them down his way.
