living together

im just wondering about t21ers experiences of living with a partner... ive been with my boyfriend for 2 years and we're looking for somewhere to live next year (for uni) and theres a spare room in the flat he's found...it makes perfect sense, but we're both just trying to make sure its going to work out fine before we decide.

Just wanted to know people's experiences of this kind of thing, whether it was a good move or a bad one and what caused problems if there were any!

we're very strong, and i've known him for 4 years as my best friend and then the last 2 as my boyfriend, so im pretty sure i know him and his habits inside out!
i live at his flat about 5 nights out of 7 as it is, but i just really want to clue myself up about things so i can have a really good think about it before making a definite decision

any advice would be really helpful

Matt and i have lived together since our 2nd year at uni (now in my 3rd) and haven't regretted it. Last year we lived with some other people in a house, but that didn't work out really, mainly cos we didn't get on with the other people. Now we live in a one bedroom flat which we find much better as we can be totally ourselves throughout the whole place, not just in our rooms. Personaaly i'd recommend just finding a flat for the two of you rather than a "spare room" in another flat

We've technically lived together since our 2nd year at Uni, but we were sleeping in each others rooms 7 nights a week in the 1st year too only a few months after getting together. We got very serious very fast and we've been planning out the next 10 or 15 years of our lives, including getting a mortgage, getting married, having kids and all that stuff. It works for us, but we seem to be rare in that sense.

My advice to me would be try it. If you now him that well and you think living together will strengthen the relationship, go for it.

Living together should work fine if as you say you're best friends! It's amazing how many people go out with people who'm they aren't really good friends with if you catch my drift.

Ask yourself this: If you're boyfriend farts in bed and sticks your head under the covers for a smell and you havent dumped him, then you should be just fine living together!!

Men smell. They do large poos and don't flush. They pee on the toilet seat. Don't do it!

Help! I'm being unfairly discriminated against! I feel the not-so-icy breath of pee-stain influenced prejudice upon my neck... and weirdly enough it smells like Toilet Duck...

Bee They're all mad - they sing choruses in public...

Good luck! I ended up doing it sooner than I anticipated, due to having nowhere else to live because of college being a pain. Then I got somewhere, at an exorbitant rate, in September - and didn't spend a single night there.

In the end, I just gave up on that contract, very luckily found someone who'd rent me a study, and have saved myself nearly 400 quid of rent per month essentially doing the same thing we've been doing for ages.
