Personally i love it, Maff can't stand the stuff. They did do marmite flavoured crisps at one point i think

It's similar vegimite if that helps, but it's made from something different

marmite crisps are pretty cool. and i like the red doritos. did anyone try the vanilla monster munch? they were just wrong.

i love woucester sauce flavour crisps... but they've been withdrwan coz of that food dye scare now :/

My favourite flavour ever has to be Brannigans Roast Beef and Mustard. I haven't seen it for ages, though. Someone tell me it's not been taken away completely?
When I can't get that, though, Prawn Cocktail rules, with Crispy Bacon a close second (esp. frazzles, and wheat crunchies).

Cheese and Onion should be banned as an abomination!

My favorite crisp of all time has to be Pickled Onion Monster Munch, but not the new style the old that used to come in a red packet. Man those crisp used to make your mouth water before you even opened the packet.

Thanks, Kate, for the link. Looked in a couple of additional places to find out what's in Marmite, and I have to say--oh. my. god. With an added, ewwwwwww. Salted fermented yeast product left over from some kind of brewery process? Of course, since I've never tasted it, I guess I can't really judge. Just doesn't sound too tasty.

Of course, I should confess that I despise cheese in all of its many forms. Think it's the nastiest food on the planet. So maybe my opinion on any type of food is suspect.

None of the Americans I know like Marmite. When you see it explained like that it sounds rather gross, lol. The trick is to spread it very thin.

How Can you not like cheese?!?!? It is my most favourite food in the world. I adore cheese and cheese flavoured things and i would eat almost anything (except mushrooms) if it's covered in cheese sauce. One my favourite snacks is just to munch on a block of cheese. My mum used to say i was like a mouse cos i ate so much of the stuff.

I cracked up when I read that because everytime I tell someone I hate cheese, they have the same reaction. I agree with PictureOfFlowers. It's horrible. But I don't just hate the taste of the stuff, I hate the very smell of it. My local market has a huge cheese section--a total waste of good shopping space if you ask me--and I have to hold my nose just to walk through it.

I remember a couple of years ago, when I was between jobs, I worked for a couple of months as an office temp, filing and typing. One of my first assignemnts was at a huge company that creates flavors for foods. They had different departments for different types of food--cake mixes, sodas, snack foods, and so on. So where to do they assign me? The cheese lab!! It was incredible. The place just reeked of cheese. And then they had these bowls of cheese and cheese snacks sitting all over the place. It was totally evil.

Melted cheese is the worst in terms of smell. One time at uni I walked into our kitchen and one of the other guys had a 4-cheese pizza in the oven. The stench made me retch. I had to walk straight out again and stay clear till the smell had gone.

I do actually eat some cheese now (I never used to, up until I was about 20 I would avoid it like the plague), but only in dishes where you can't really taste it very much.

No, because melting it generally makes matters worse. And then there's artificial melted cheese that they put on mac and cheese or other foods. I honestly don't see how people can eat that stuff.

Pizza? Strangely enough, it's the only food on the planet I can eat that has cheese in it. BUT, the pizza has to have a thick crust, lots of spicy tomato sauce, very little cheese (which has to be mozzarella), and has to be loaded with toppings like mushrooms, peppers, onions, sausage. And I think that makes it alright because the cheese is sort of hidden. You can't taste it that much. If it's a really cheesey pizza, I won't go anywhere near it. So chain store pizzas like Dominoes or Pizza Hut are out. Well, they make crappy pizza anyway. There's one small pizza place in the town where I live where this Italian family has been making pizza since the 1930s, with their own family recipe for sauce, fresh toppings, great crust, baked in an old brick oven. They don't pile on the cheese either. So I can eat theirs, and theirs is about the only pizza I'll have.
