The cesarian could have been for any amount of reasons. There could have been complications. My mother had to have 3 after problems from my first sister who was very very premiture. So it could even have been due to problems after the second sons birth.

As for the name...how do you think its said?

I like uncommon names. For the new baby we are considering Bailey and Kode for either a boy or a girl.

I think it's pronounced like Penelope Cruz although i haven't actually heard it being said yet so i'm just guessing, so like "cruise" maybe...

I know. Sometimes I sit back and wonder if the parents are thinking straight at the time. Unconventional may well be the thing of the moment when it comes to names, but it's the poor bugger who has to live with it for the rest of his/her life.

And don't get me started on those people who opt for normal names and then completely forget how they are spelled...

Matthew. It's an ancient hebrew name, it's in the Bible, it's not hard to spell. So why do people persist in spelling it with only one t? Fools! Argh!

And Sarah spelt as 'Sara'... which is a totally different name entirely.

Either way, Cruz is pronounced the same as Cruise, or Cruz (as in Penelope) or as in Santa.

I'm another one who's not a fan of unconventional names. I do like foreign names though. Quite like some French names, like Jean-Luc (and no, not because it's in Star Trek ).

I don't think the name is that bad and I don't really care. Aslong as that child gets a happy life is all that matters to me.

Also wasn't she photographed with new celeb friend Tom Cruise a couple of months ago? A conection to the name maybe? Could be worse if she befriended Steve Buscemi I guess.....

My friend Kelly said that, if he grows up to only be 3 foot tall we'll know he's named after his dad!

I can't decide whether to be surprised or not at the name... they seem incapable of naming their children anything normal. The name "Brooklyn" grew on me, "Romeo" i'm still not sure about but "Cruz"? all i can think of is that poor kid in the future...

Not that we saw much of her beforehand, but here's to not seeing hide nor hair of Victoria til she's back to her usual anorexic-like twiggy self again...

In all honesty I didnÂ’t even know she was pregnant, lol. But a stupid name was only to be expected really, wasn't it?

As for the caesarean 'issue' - She supposedly has Polycystic Ovaries Syndrome (PCOS) which caused complications in her first birth.

If I'm not mistaken she's had all 3 by caesarean because of her ‘condition’ as she is unable to give birth naturally, which means if she wants any more kids she is kind of buggered. Apparently it’s strongly advised not to have any more than 3 caesareans because it’s not safe or something.

Not that I'm one to know about celebrities and what not, but I vaguely remember it mentioning her in an article I read in a friends magazine about PCOS.

They had to come up with an odd name, 'cos anything sensible probably wouldn't have made the news.....

In the Spanish news paper El Mundo there was an article about this by Lola Oria who is a Spanish professor at the University of Oxford who is saying it is an old fashioned Spanish girls name.

It means cross (the wooden thing) and in Spanish the word gramatically is feminine. Although it is not uncommon for boys to get names which in other countries are seen as girlnames they do currently live in Spain.......

I always feel really sorry for famous peoples kids. I think the name is the least of their worries.
