It's easy enough just to answer "do the right thing", and if you do, then everyone will respect you for doing it, and it'll give you a clear conscience then. The only exception I wouldn't do the right thing in, was if the thing i was about to lose was too precious and great.

I'm so not good at doing the "right thing" simply because there never is a "right thing" whatever you do will always be the "wrong thing" in someones eyes.

I'll go with JTB hun and do what "you" want to do

well if you ask me i always make the wrong decission even when i think its the right one, i don't think you can ever win as theres always a downside of some sort. if you ask me just flip a coin.

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

But anyhoo, I'm hopeless with important decisions. Actually I'm hopeless with all decisions, it takes me an hour to figure out what I want for lunch! So I try and get out of decision-making whenever possible. If I can't though, I'm the type of person who'll go for the easiest option. I don't like the fact that I do it, but that's the way I am.

The answer is to do whatever will help you sleep at night.

I think we have all done things in our lives that we have regretted later. I know that I lay awake at night thinking about things that have happened to me and wished they could have been different.

I know this post sounds intense but its just stupid things really!

Though it's of course impossible to generalise about this sort of problem, one principle it may be worth bearing in mind is that the validity of the "obvious right thing" may vary quite dramatically from one perspective to another; and what may be obviously right to one person may be completely antithetical to another (eg, telling the truth regardless of consequences).

As such, though it's important to be aware of other peoples perspectives on the problem, in the absence of absolute truths the most important factor is your own perception; you must make sure that whatever you chose to do you're honest with yourself about why you chose it.
