Apparently a time lord has twelve regenerations - so if they stay with the back story then there can only be Thirteen Doctors. Though I'm sure a clever writer could invent a reason why the Doctor would have more if they wanted to!

Tonights ep was much, much better, i enjoyed it quite a lot. None of the really naff sci-fi camp. I love serious sci-fi, but once it turns campy and cheesy i get turned off it.

However, the victorian thing worked well, so i hope they do some similar eps again soon.

I also enjoyed that episode but I loved last weeks too. I believe episodes 9 and 10 will be very much up your street being a creepy historical story.

Episode 6 proves to be dark and brutal too.

Unsurprisingly for a self-confessed history nut, tonight's epp was my favourite yet. The Victorian setting was spot on, and I really enjoyed all the Dickens references. The way they modeled the "ghosts" on victorian ectoplasm was very clever, the same with the various twists. Liked how they played it dark instead of campy, and the end was surprisingly moving. That scene with Rose and the psychic maid was oddly creepy.

Just altogether more stylish really.

They're clearly building up to something with all these time war references.

Next week's looks good, but I see the 2by4 of a boyfriend is back, as is the director. All the epps have been a step-up so far, hope this isn't going back.

Yes, but then Id have to kill you.

I DO think the next 2 episodes (its a 2 parter) return to the 'camp romp' of the first episode (and its director), as all three episodes were filmed simultaneously.

FYI episode 6 is the return of the Daleks, and 9/10 is a WW2 epic.

Fans of Spaced/Shaun of the Dead will enjoy episode 7 as Simon Pegg has a guest roll.
