My horse in the office sweepie was taken out by a stray horse just before the end. It was in the lead too!

I'd take a bet on Clan Royale, ya know the one 'taken out by a stray horse just before the end. It was in the lead too!'

Well I didn't even realise it was this weekend till Friday night when some random stranger in the pub told me I should bet on Hedgehunter!
I didn't unfortunately..... but a friend of mine did, and won £550!!

I'd be tempted to mount some sort of protest to get the laws changed so that stray horses are led off the track at the first opportunity.
But then it'd be less fun when it's not me who gets the short end of the stick, so to speak
Geez, Headhunter was the favourite with odds of 9-1, so your mate must have bet around £50!

My horse came second, but I backed it £1 each way so still won £12. My other half picked the winner (though hardly difficult picking the odds on favourite :rolleyes.
Mine came 18th, but at least it finished It was in first too at the very beginning then decided to support the other runners from behind Very noble
Matt's fell near the end after being in third for the majority of the race Hehe

All I am saying is 24 fences people. Glenelly Gale was leading for 24 fences! I was screaming at the TV so much that my neighbours had to check on me. For any of you that might find this behaviour extrodinary...That is my Dad's horse, as my father is into Irish races and has a mini stud farm over there. The horse has done us proud over the years but Glenelly is 12 years old and not going to be racing as much- well in actual fact he will be retiring. We were gonna be happy if she placed but to lead that far was brilliant with such a young jockey on him. He did my da proud even if he pulled up. I wish I had been at Aintree with Ma, da and Kev but it was difficult.

Grand National has been a tradition for as long as I can remember, since when we used to pick a couple of horses and Mum & Dad would go put a pound on for each of us.
This year I thought I'd be greedy and bet on 3 horses actually wandering off to the bookies Thought I'd make the odds a bit varied so went £1 on Hedgehunter and a £1 each way on both Astonville and Just in Debt because they had nice high odds (and you never know each horse probably has as much chance of falling over!)
So out of the fiver I spent, I won back £8 on him making a grand total of £3 profit (which I promptly spent on losing lottery tickets as it was a rollover )

First year that none of my choices fell over! But sulked when Astonville got pulled up near fence 13, but at least Just in Debt finished (somewhere) and naturally Hedgehunter came first.
