Had a very bizzare Labour leaflet the other week, attacking the Lib Dems for opposing ID cards. For once I can't fault them on honesty, but I have to wonder whether the local Libs bunged them a few for all the free advertising.

Lib Dem partially because they are the only major party who oppose ID Cards.
T21 exit poll
The booths are all closed, the votes being tallied, and Tony Blair's broken out the numbers for American lecture tours.
How have people here voted? To kick things off, I've made my mark for the Lib Dems.

Lib Dem, and our guy (Ronnie Campbell) held his seat. I voted Labour in the council elections though.
Basically it's all down to football (as most things are are with me). One of the 2 people that has done the most to destroy Brighton and Hove Albion Football club is an ex Lib Dem MP called David Bellotti. He was responsible for selling our stadium with no plans for a new one. (I could give you loads more details on what a lieing, corrupt scumbag this man is but there have already been 2 books published on the subject).

Oh do tell.
This all happened in 1995-97. Since then the football club has been homeless and has been playing in a pathetic local athletic stadium that has a tiny capacity. The club was granted planning permission for a new stadium but the Lewes MP (lib Dem) has done everything he can to prevent it going ahead (including using dirty tricks to delay the public enquiry and spending £30,000 of tax payers money on an independent analysis of sites that had already been carried out).
I hate these 2 men with a passion (especially Bellotti - who incidentally is working for the Lib Dems in Bath (local council??)). Because of these men I cannot take my sons to football on saturday afternoons (each game sold out due to tiny capacity). As a result I will never vote Lib Dem while either of these men are involved with the party.
After finding the polling card that I used to wedge a door open....
Lib Dem (I was persuaded to vote at the last minute lol)

Wow,
I'm really surprised by the diversity in this thread.
Well, guess what, I voted for the Lib Dems too.

If he's this well known and it can all be proved, you're absolutely right, he should have been tossed out. In the Lib Dems' -- slender -- defence, all the parties seem to have their ample share of lying cheating scumbags (think there must be a quota). Local Lib Dem parties have a reputation for shockingly dirty campaigning, but then Labour has mass voting fraud and the Tories have "business consultants" and the Monday Club. Once the Greens start getting real power, depressingly, I imagine they'll go the same way. I look at it more as an indictment of the way politics operates than a particular party. My tolerance threshold for dodgy politicos is fairly high these days.
At the time I think Bellotti was kicked out - or at the very least none of the Lib Dems wanted anything to do with him. Hence the fact he moved to Bath and wormed his way back in in an area where he was relatively unknown. The man is complete scum.
Norman Baker (Lewes Lib Dem MP) is not in the same league. He has used dirty tricks to get his way but as you say all parties have people that do that. Still bloody annoying though.

Sure is, tis one of the many reasons why I'd like representative democracy done away with. But that's for another thread.

Voted Labour here, Our local MP has done a cracking job over the years and I wanted it to continue, which would have been under threat if people made a protest vote with the lib dems.
Luckily most other people here had the same thought.

Was that the clip they showed on Have I Got news for You, if so it was funny.

That's it. The fulll version's available at the BBC site, it's even funnier. Two political pitbulls at each other's throats.

(Normally I can't stand the man, but Galloway was right on this one, it was an epically braindead question from Paxman.)
Loathe though I am to side with Galloway, it was probably one of the most astoundingly stupid things I've ever heard any journalist say.
Search on the BBC website for Paxman v Galloway and you should find a recording of it.

Mr Galloway, are you proud of having got rid of one of the very few black women in Parliament?
