I have to admit that I found Jill Dando's death much more upsetting than Princess Diana's, although that was probably due, at least in part, to the circumstances.
Most upsetting celebrity death?
The most upsetting death of a celeb in my lifetime that upset me the most was when Aaliyah died, because she was so young and it was so shocking. Also Princess Diana is definately up there.
And nope, I'm not really morbid, I was just thinking at the moment hardly any famous people have died, because there's always a few months out of the year where loads die all at once.

Probably John Peel. I don't usually get upset over celebrity deaths, but when he died it really shocked me.
i) Douglas Adams went too early.
ii) Was annoyed when the royal blonde woman ousted Mother Theresa from the front pages.

Most celebrity deaths don't bother me, but the two that upset me are Princess Diana and John Ritter.
Me neither, though I found myself agreeing with Mark Steel when he said, "What better proof is there that God has deserted us than Joe Strummer dying before Maggie."

Can't say i've ever been upset by a celebrity death...
Not really been upset by a celebrity death, although I don't see Princess Diana as a celeb I did cry a great deal. Mainly for Harry and William.
Im with you I dont get upset about people i've got no personal involvement with.

Gotta say that it doesn't really affect me that much. However I was sad to hear about Aaliyah died and also when Lisa 'Left-Eye' Lopes dies as well mainly cos I was a fan of their music.
John Candy's death was a true loss as well as I loved his films as a kid.

John Peel.
I was at sea, so I was a couple of days late on the news. I went out on deck, watched the sunset and had a moment for John Peel...

John Peel had a had a good life, though.
Charlotte Coleman, on the other hand, was only 33 when she died, of an asthma attack, in her flat, with her medication only a flight of stairs away. Combine that with the fact that I practically grew up with Marmalade Atkins, and her death affects me in a way I don't think any other celebrity death could. It's a cliche but, such a waste.

John Peel definitely.
It took me many days, maybe weeks to really "take it in" that he was gone. It just seemed so wrong. It still makes me sad

Has to be John Peel.
Although, the bloke nearly caused my death many times.
Trying to scribble the name of the band & the track on a pad on the passenger seat as I made my way up twisty lanes or on the M4.

John Ritter? Don't mean to sound retarded here if it's a different person but is that the actor who played "Ted" on Buffy?
yes, same actor. He is known best as "Jack Tripper" from the 80s(?) sitcom "Three's Company". He was only in his early fifties, was happily married and they had a little girl.
