Yeah, I read about this a few days ago, it's really neat. Good luck to the guy.
The world's first Bionic Man
See the video on the BBC website here.
This guy lost both his arms when he was electrocuted at his job, a Tennessee power company. Ther doctors have used new technologies, called Neural Engineering, to create an interface between his brain and the robotic arms. He can move them, and even has some sort of feeling. The video features him using the arms to pick stuff up, grasp it with accuracy, the lot.
Truly amazing. It's so expensive it won't be on the market for another 5-10 years, and then only for the rich i expect, but eventually, this will have real practical applications for amputees.
Cool.

Cool.
Perhaps it'll be cheap enough in a number of years time that I can get some bionic legs.

But in all seriousness, until recently this has been purely science fiction, and now it's science reality. I can only imagine what tech we'll have in 50 or 100 years.
It is a very interesting thing. I did read something about this over the weekend. Now you mention 6 million dollar man, I can't get that IBM laptop commercial out of my head.

Dammit, I wanted to post a quote from that advert! It just rules, doesn't it? But yep, IBM ads in general are usually cool...
On a barely related note, did anyone watch a one-off comedy on Channel 5 a few years ago called Hotel!, which starred Lee Majors as PotUS staying in a British hotel taken over by terrorists?
