Well hopefully it won't be all doom and gloom. Apparently the plan is to turn the village into cheap housing for key workers (nurses/teachers etc) afterwards. Which will be nice. And Stratford is a hole. Has a nice train station though...

Chinese restraunts and yearly beer festival aren't bad either.

What I find interesting is the idea of 'construction kit' venues that can easily be dismantled, with the plan of transporting them to other cities after the games, and rebuilding them...
