Hey, i'm in a desperate fix at the moment, i've been trying to teach myself to use dreamweaver for a few weeks now, to create a website for a module in uni, but so far, the only thing i've managed to do to my liking is pick the background colour!! i've been using the tutorials, and i still don't get it! so basically, if anyone can offer me any tips or help, i'd be reeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaallly grateful, as i only have 3 weeks to do six essays, plus this website malarkey!! it all seems a bit impossible and i'm afraid i might get kicked off!
First off, remember there's a trial version of Dreamweaver available from macromedia, so if you don't already have a copy at home you can learn using that.
Check out a couple of other things on the macromedia site -- notably their developer center which includes several tutorials, and a blog on learning dreamweaver by a guy who teaches dreamweaver (not all usefull/accessable, but quite a lot).
As this is for a univerity course it's probably worth bearing in mind the types of things your tutors are likely to be looking for -- ergonomics, content, site structure, etc -- spending time on Dreamweaver may not be the most effective way of getting the site designed for the course, and that the quality of the underlying HTML and the reasoning behind the design decissions are likely to be at least as important (depending obviously on what the requirements of the coursework in question were).

thanks for those links, they were helpful! but im still not really much further on...i think perhaps im being too ambitious, so ive started designing it again....i just think im being asked a lot for someone who doesn't do website designing full time! to create a website with at least 3 pages illustrating 3 of my favourite places in a inventive way...oh and incorporating something i've made in flash and a video edited in premiere....we only had a 1hr lesson on each of those programmes, and now im in at the complete deep end!
arrrggh!
