i'd say men always from my experience are ready beofre women, ok they may shower longer, i take about 156 minutes which isn't that long, but women have to do a lot more like put on make up, shave their legs, do their hair, and then chose something to wear and try on about 10 outfits before going back to the 1st one they tried on. a man showers, shaves, does his hair and gets dressed straight away very simple.

Spike you just totaly discredited your argument by stating in the same post : I take about 156 mins which isn't long (so that's 2 hours 36 mins) and then saying a man showers, shaves, does hair and gets dressed straight away.

So which is it hun ? you take an extremly long time or your not a man?

Well I'll just add my two pence

There are a few factors to keep in mind when deciding on the time I take for a shower.

I'll just picture two little scenario's here:
I have to get out and need to go somewhere:
- Shower / shave / brushing teeth / getting dressed, can take everything from 12 minutes up to 30 minutes depending on in what kinda hurry I am.

I have all the time in the world because its Saterday or I'm off or something:
- Shower / shave / brushing teeth / getting dressed. Takes atleast 90 minutes. Because the shower takes atleast 30 minutes (normally shave in the shower, I don't need a mirror to shave (would be a good vampire)) but could also take up to 45 or till the warm water runs out whatever happends first. Brushing teeth well 4 minutes at max mostly less. The getting dressed is the hard part here because normally I just fetch some clothes from the wardrobe at random (making sure that I have atleast a t-shirt / trousers / boxers / and a matching pair of socks. Than I just crash on my bed and watch telly for an hour or so while in the meantime I slowly get dressed whenever I feel like it.

So I don't think we should look at what is the average time you can get showered and ready to go but at the minimum time. And in those cases guys normally are a bit quicker due to the clothing ritual the washing of hair, the shaving of whatever you want to be shaving before you go out (kinda seems to differ for each gender ) We just have to put less effort into that (in most cases)

But be honest guys what are we moaning about. So what if they take longer in the shower and are always late and the oh just 5 more minutes normally ends up to be 45, atleast when they are all done and ready to go they look fab So just appreciate the effort the gals put into it (they are doing it for you (or not ))

Ok I'll stop now because I think thats worth a pound and not 2 pence

Since I prefer to lie in bed til the last possible moment before heading off for work, I get up and out of the house in 20 minutes in the morning.

In achieving this, I tend to leave t-shirts inside sweaters etc as a combination for the week and eat breakfast at my desk.

There just aren't enough hours in the day.

There are 24 hours in a day and than you still have the night I don't see your problem

My other half *always* takes longer than me, although this is mostly because he seems to believe that you don't get properly clean in a bath unless you've read the whole sports section while you're in there

On the subject of choosing outfits, I may be unusual, but I find it very easy. As long as at least 90% of your clothes are black you can always find things that match

My morning ritual:-
Alarm goes off at 5:21am
Get up at 5:30am
Go to the loo
Brush Teeth
Throw on jogging bottoms & jumper
Walk & feed Scrum (Dog)
In the shower by 6:15am
Dressed and made up by 6:40am
Coat on and out the door by 6.45am
Massive mug of Coffee as soon as I get to the office at 7:25am

Ray takes forever in the shower... if anyone needs the loo, i tell them to go before he hits the shower... i timed him at 45 minutes on Sunday... where as i can be in and out the shower in 10 minutes.. which i've honed down to a fine art with two munchkins on the loose It seems to be the general consensus that men are longer in the shower than women

My name is Vong and i take ages in the shower.

If we're talking minimum time my mate once rang me at 7.15 and told me if I wanted a night out, there was a taxi booked from her house for 7.30.

I showered got dressed did make-up and got a taxi to hers with a couple of minutes to spare.

However my hair was dripping wet still and needless to say I got a cold (it was middle of winter and I had a tiny dress and no coat, doh!!)

And I think its good that men take such an interest as to how they look So I'm not complaning, just curious, as most of you dont fit the stereotype of women taking hours and men taking minutes

Cause the second she hears it she hit the snooze button, when it goes off again, it'll be 9 minutes later, 5.30, and that's the exact time she wants to get up

Every minute counts when it's 5:20, I wouldn't want to miss that minute of extra sleep either...

Men definitely take longer. Living with 2 men I know this for a fact. It is annoying when I have to wait to get in the bathroom, but on the other hand I'd rather they spend a while in there than no time at all!
