I don't think so.. It looks like it is set for the sites 'Gameweeks'.

Can you change players on a saturday evening (for example if like today half my team aren't playing until the sunday can you leave them as subs on Saturday and then put them into the team in time for the sunday games?)
The Premiership is back :D
The football season starts again tomorrow, so what do people think the prospects are for their team?
IÂ’m a Liverpool fan and while I can see us improving in the league I canÂ’t see us finishing higher than 3rd. We might do a little better if we can sell Baros and tempt Owen back though. Europe might be our best option again.
The Premiership is ChelseaÂ’s to lose this season. Man United will be more of a threat, but Arsenal havenÂ’t really strengthened enough over the summer after the loss of Viera. As for relegation, it may well be the 3 Ws (West Brom, West Ham and Wigan) to go down.

Most of Man Utd fans maybe considered 'glory hunters' but the same can be said about a lot of Arsenal,Liverpool and Chelsea fans (I for one am not a glory hunter I've been following Man utd all my life). It's all to do with success and United have been the most successful team of recent times (sorry but that's the way it is).

I disliked the team when they had Cantona playing, and I can dislike a team for any reason I choose and the main reason it is because they are dirty, their manager is a complete idiot, who has little temper tantrums when he doesn't get his way and basically a disgusting old man. Another reason I dislike the team is half the supporters are glory hunters (although I don't know why...). The worse thing about playing against Man U at the Millenium Stadium is that half the coaches go back to London.
My family is from Highbury, I'm Arsenal through and through. It's not a choice it's a fact of my life.
Anyway all this aside, I don't think we will win today but I'm not ashamed to admit it

Technically, that's more than one reason, but I assume you've met the bloke and have formed a valid opinion rather than editorializing what it says on the back pages of a tabloid?

I presume that there was even more thorough investigation involved in this decision too?

I don't support a football team, I have absolutely no interest in the game whatsoever (I even had to put my Dad's Team down as my fave when making up a FF Team for the T21 league), but I'd find it difficult to hate 15+ people in the team simply because of my impressions on one individual who doesn't even pull on a pair of shorts and play
And as for the idiocy of extending that dislike to the millions of fans across the world... don't you think you're being a bit of a footie bigot?
As Ethan said, it's done by gameweeks, so the team that you have in place before the weekend is the one that will count for the whole weekend. So any changes you've made over the weekend won't count for today's games, but will come into effect for Tuesday and Wednesday's games

I don't really make a habit of defending Man U, but it's a little bit harsh to say that one of the most successful managers in English football history is a complete idiot. And while Man U may be dirty, they're certainly not alone. Remember that it's only a couple of seasons back that Arsenal players were practically assaulting van Nistlerooy at the end of a match against Man U.

I don't read tabloids and don't touch the backs of other papers cos generally they are dull and I prefer to watch the game. It's watching the games (actually at Highbury and on the TV) where I make my opinion.

Maybe you should have a word with other fans who don't like Arsenal because of one player or the manager.
I enjoy all the banter as much as the next person but I'm stating a point. I do not reply to posts or threads regarding why other members like/dislike celebrities/footballers etc and if they have actually met the person to make that decision. Of course my opinion is based on my own feelings and I am generally sorry if I have caused anyone to get angry or annoyed because of it
I'm going to stick up for Lizzieslayer here. To be honest although I agree that all 3 of these teams have glory hunters it does seem far worse with Man Utd. You say you have supported Man Utd all your life but is this because you were born there (not a glory hunter) or because they were the best team when you chose who to support (glory hunter imho). Their cynical expoitation of the Asian market and the way fans have gone so OTT over the Glazer takeover (whilst they were happy to reap the benefits of being a PLC) mean that I share her dislike of Man Utd. (That and the fact that they beat us in the 1983 cup final!).

I'm afraid I can't agree with Arsenal not being as dirty however. I seem to recall quite a few red cards over the course of the last couple of seasons.
Just out of interest do many people on here go to watch football regularly (live rather than on tv)?
I do, I go to Highbury - although not as often as I would like. It's far too expensive and I have to borrown my Grandpa or Uncle's tickets.

Tell me about it! The cost of going to football has skyrocketed since the forced introduction of all seater stadiums (boo - hiss!) but that's another discussion!
I though Arsenal were unlucky today. Clear pen in the first half and a goal conceded by a piece of terribe control from Drogba.

That's a very blinkered view-point if you don't mind me saying so. I don't know who you support, but I'm assuming you've had the fortune to be born and raised in an area with at least a semi-decent team (I'm guessing they're in the premiership)? At least that's the way it sounds from what you've said.

Let's assume I had the slightest interest in football. I was born in Shrewsbury. Nothing wrong there, they're not a great team I'm sure, but nothing wrong with supporting them. But I moved away from there when I was about 3 or 4 years old. I have no memories of the place and no connection to it. Should I still be forced to support them just because I was born there?
I grew up in Aberystwyth, that's where I know as home. But as a football team, ha! I could probably play for them! And if I wanted to follow their progress I'd probably have to get my parents to post the local paper to me every week, the games are hardly likely to be televised! Should I be forced to support them?
And on a related note, I do like American Football. I'm a Miami Dolphins fan. I started following them because they were in the first ever game I saw on TV, back when I knew nothing about the sport, not even the rules. I think they probably won that game. Does that make me a glory-hunter? How do you choose your team if there isn't one in the place of your birth?
Anyhoo, sorry to ramble. It's a good job I don't actually like football really...
I thought Chelsea didn't play that well and I was sure they would thrash us. We didn't play brilliantly either. But congrats to Chelsea.

From what I've gathered Kneon is a Brighton supporter (I only twigged the user name a couple weeks ago - shame on me) Semi-decent might be stretching it

There's nothing wrong with supporting a team from a different area of the country to where you're born/live etc but it's just a little fishy that certain fans jump on board when a team is successful. It happens with successful teams in all sports though, some people are just like that. I'm totally committed to Wolves but I wasn't born in nor do I live in Wolverhampton. Can't be accused of being a glory hunter though

If you're a Dolphins fan you're more masochist than glory hunter Go Saints, go Saints...
I dont give two hoots what people say about the fact that i support Chelsea but im from essex.
In rights i should support West Ham as my father grew up next door to Upton Park.
He hates football so i dont see why i should support them.
Basildon doesnt have a team and theres no Essex United (that i know of!)
So i support Chelsea, my aunts a Chelsea supporter too and she grew up in Ilford.
If it helps, I back the Gills too because i have a caravan in Kent

Wasn't born in Manchester but have been to old trafford although it is a few years now due to costs, but I started supporting united when I was a kid and everyone else at my school either supported Arsenal or Liverpool, also at that time they weren't as successful as now.

All I care about is that Saints are on a two game winning streak and are seventh in the Championship and that Pompey (Scates!) are on a two game losing streak and have yet to secure a point in the Premiership
Southend have a team. They're called Southend United

Surely that would be a 'local' team
Well, we're having a knees up at Stamford Bridge after yesterdays result. It's about time we beat Arsenal in the league - the last time was 1st Sept 1995 ! I was born in Battersea and have supported Chelsea all my life. I was there in the bad times when we were relegated and nearly lost our ground and the good times when we won at Wembley. Used to go and see Fulham and Wimbledon a lot too cos thats who my mates support, so would go there if i couldn't make a Blues match.
Other sports - i support the Miami Dolphins (American Football) and the Chicago Cubs (Baseball), so anyone who knows about these teams know i'm not a glory hunter lol
