In all my heart i hope it's not true, for those thousands who sat edexcel RE and worked their butts off, and also because it will fuel journalists who always love to say "oh the exams the kids do are rubbish and easy"

But at the same time, out of all the exam boards, Edexcel is the one i least trust lol. Not just because it tends to be them who are in the news with exam cock-ups but also because of my experience of them recently

I think it's fair enough getting uni students to mark the papers like they have done in the past, i don't really see a problem in this as long as they're properly trained and it's in a subject they know well. (off on a tangent there lol)
But to have people who allegedly haven't had proper training really annoys me, because i just feel like they're degrading all the hard work students put into these exams *sigh*

Sad to say it might well be. Pressure to process the growing pile of scripts has led to some shocking corner cutting.

To be fair that's not what the majority of critics are saying. Their position is that exams now value fact recall over original thinking, making A-levels an inaccurate measure of ability because teachers can get candidates into the highest grades by repetition. It's not a question of students having it easy, which they clearly don't, so much as whether their hard work is being put towards the right ends.

My RE teacher was called Mrs Godson She'd never give anyone 100% in an exam as "No one except God is perfect"
