hehehehe, i have a new laptop like that! Except it's been taken away for things to be put on it. I was going round all the shops feeling them to make sure i got one that felt and looked yummy

Whatever you do, if you're installing Anti Virus/Personal Firewall , do NOT, i repeat do NOT touch Internet Security 2005 with a ten foot barge pole. I was stupid enough to and it is driving me absolutely insane!!!!

But me would love a lap top... not bothered what it does or how big or clever it is, i just want one...

I've got an old(ish) and not very good computer. I tried to get it running a bit better this weekend with some more RAM and another hard disk. But the disk was too big for my motherboard to read properly and for some reason it doesn't like the new RAM. So I'm now looking into getting a new mother board. In some ways this is cool cos it basically means that I will have a shiny new computer. But I also just know it's gonna be a major pain in the ass to install...

Actually, does anyone on here have any recommendations for motherboards/processors? I'm not really sure whether to go for a fairly basic one or to go all out for a stoopidly fast and powerful one...

Mine was 8 years old (my pc of course) and was dying, it was gonna work out cheaper to get a new one than upgrade my old one although at least the kids (in there eyes) have a new computer too, or will have once I've cleaned all my rubbish off it lol

Unless you game, or have the need for a blisteringly fast cpu to shave 2ms of opening Firefox, dont bother. You can buy a good spec machine for 400 quid and have change for the odd beer. Should be able to get around 3ghz/512/160 gig for that money
