A year or so ago, I was working on a project for a very large mobile operator that wanted a "quick and dirty" (fnar fnar) study of the German "adult content services" markets, pay TV and mobile especially. Yes, I was being paid to access those web sites one normally gets fired for accessing from work. We had lots of fun with phrases in the report documents like "hand-held equipment" and "market penetration".

One conclusion: mobile phone screens had come a long way (ooh err...) but, if I didn't stop this, I could go blind! Another thing: I was also on Orange's 3G trials at the time and one of the mobile sites I had to check out crashed the browser on it. I was *so* tempted to file a compatibility (huhuhuh) report on this... Also had to make damned sure I sanitised my laptop and mobile thoroughly after the project as my sister was visiting!

There was a follow-on project to look at other markets (including Japan :-O) but, alas, I was in the middle of another project at a share registrar. Somehow not nearly as exotic, really...

More general note: does management consultancy count as an embarassing job?
