And I'm very, very, very hungover
T-Journal 16th Dec
Well today I was meant to be an aunt but my sisters c-section has been moved to next Wednesday. She might still have it in the next couple of days so I'm on hold all weekend.

I woke up with a headache and I hadn't drunk any alcohol at all.... didn't have any coffee at all yesterday so who knows I might be back on caffine addiction again and my body is complaining. Yet something similar a few years back when I used to drink 8 - 10 cups of coffee a day and actually replace breakfast by coffee (meant I could stay in bed another 15 minutes and the machine was like right next to my desk at work....).
With some help of Noid I figured out how to make certain elements on the frontpage refresh every 15 minutes instead of once a day. Now I just need to test it and see if it actually works If it does I'll be moving over the new module for the frontpage over to www from our development lab. Sorry for the delay but it should really be there this afternoon

We had a department drink at work yesterday afternoon. Since most of the department staff is out on a "brainstorm week" it was just the students and some left-behind staff. We drank a lot, and had a barbeque on the balcony (on the 6th floor )
Okay we have a little new feature on the frontpage...... current threads
It standard displays the last 10 threads on T21 (but is cached for 15 minutes so don't get offended if your post isn't affecting the list directly ) And if you hit the "more" button it will display the last 20 threads. Your settings for the frontpage is stored in your session so when you have read one of the new threads and venture back to the frontpage the list should still be in the same state as it was before (10 or 20 items). The latest thread in the today stuff will be removed with the next cache update of the frontpage and as always after hours threads will not be featured on the frontpage
Hope you enjoy it

Foos: we're great (not as amazing as green day though ) It was muchos fun. I was only goingbecause my mum loves dave grohl and she wanted someone to go with so she didn't look weird lol. In the end she had a nasty stomach bug which stopped her going But i rang her up and she listened to quite a bit of the concert.
Birthday: twas very quiet. Thank you for all the well wishes and texts and stuff like that I got some cool pressies, but it was mostly money and chocolate (my two favourite things) alas the money will be spent on books methinks I went out with lunch with my mum and dad.
I couldn't go out really last night for my bday because i'm back oop north so my uni mates aren't around and quite a few other uni's haven't finished yet so my mates from round here werent' around!! But hey ho, december is one big non-event for me this year so i'm not too arsed really.
I am however ill i think again. I've got this really bad chesty cough and cold, and my glands are really swollen again and i'm exhuasted, just like what i had a couple of weeks ago. I thought the anti-biotics had cleared it up, i dunno if they didn't or if i've got it again I'll go back to the docs oop north next week if it's not cleared up.

Jaine Feel better soon *hug*
Did the gift wrapping today and did it in about two hours which is quick for us, wrapping for kids, family and bickering over who the CD vouchers were for. Hubby then took me out for lunch for the second time this week (he's on his hols)
Coming back, tried to get back in our nice warm house from the freezing cold and discovered that the lock to the back door, the door we use 99.9999% of the time wouldn't open, it's been a bit iffy for a few months but we always managed to get it open. Now it's given up the ghost and won't unlock so now we have to use the front door til we can either get it repaired or replaced. Just happens to be the worst possible time for this to happen (ginormous credit card bill and skint)

Thank you. She's had a rough pregnancy 'cos she's diabetic. They're letting her have it this week when she'll be 36 weeks. They already estimate he weighs over 7lb (we don't do little babies in our family ) and I say he 'cos we already know it's a little boy as she's had tons of scans I'm so excited 'cos it saves me having another one! It's weird to think that we've only been close since they gave her 24hrs to live in Sept 04.

This is an edited/quick version of my journal - work sucks but I finished for xmas today!!
Also I've had 4 uni offers from Roehampton, Nottingham Trent, Leeds Met and De Montfort & an interview from Coventry which I will turn down. No rejections!

Been a bit of a catch up day for me. Not with work, but with people. As it was the last day of term, i went round to see some mates before they all headed off for the holidays. Saw Jenny, who got knocked over by a cyclist yesterday and broke her collar bone, had a huge clot of blood under her thumb nail which needed to be pierced to release it and has got a huge black eye from her broken glasses! I also exchanged gifts with (other) Jennie and Matt and I got a box of Pizazz chocolates from her. Tasty
I then went to meet Mahya in town for a hot chocolate as i hadn't seen her in forever so we chatted for ages. Matt and i then went for tea at Bella Italia before he went back off to work.
I also heard from a very old friend for the first time in about 7 years. She sent me a picture too, and she looks sooo different. But in a good way. She looks about 26, not 21! We've exchanged a couple of emails and she's now doing mental health nursing in Birmingham (Wo, you may know her ).
Just waiting for the Space Cadets final to come on... should be good

OK so what is it you are suggesting, that I may know her because she is in Birmingham, or because she is mental health? Or perhaps you are making some kind of association between Brummies and the need for the other?
