Techie Help Required!

Afternoon all!

I'm trying to run a classic game on my computer but it won't play

I recently purchased Star Wars Supremacy (Or Rebellion for non-UK T21 members) and I tried to run it on my computer but I get an Error message reading:

C:\Windows|System32\autoexec.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the Application

IS there anyway I can set my computer to run this program? It was orriginally designed to run on Win 95 and I'm currently running XP with SP2. I have had this problem before but it was with cheap games and I REALLY wanna play this one. Please help if you can!!

Vinnie Just because you don't beleive in something, doesn't mean it's not true.

you could try using the 'compatibility wizard' you can set it to run as if windows 95.

Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Program Compatibility Wizard

Chambler A computer without Microsoft is like a chocolate cake without mustard.

If you don't want to use the wizard you can also set compatability modes directly by right clicking on the executable you want to run selecting properties select the second tab which should be compatability which gives you multiple modes you can run the program in. Win98 / ME should do the trick but you can also go further back and even limit resolutions and amount of colours used if need be.

Nope that didn't work...

Just comes up with the same error

Says it's form the '16 bit windows subsystem' if thats any help

Some google'ing resulted in this:

In a cmd box perform: (presuming windows xp is indeed installed in C:\Windows\)
copy C:\WINDOWS\REPAIR\AUTOEXEC.NT C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT
