OXFORD, England -- A British university professor has been fitted with cyborg technology enabling his nervous system to be linked to a computer.

Surgeons implanted a silicon square about 3mm wide into an incision in Warwick's left wrist and attached its 100 electrodes, each as thin as a hair, into the median nerve.
Connecting wires were fed under the skin of the forearm and out from a skin puncture and the wounds were sewn up.

I think its is a really good cause, helping people and all and finding out new things about the humanbody but this

Warwick also hopes to wire himself up to a ultrasonic sensor, used by robots to navigate around objects, to give himself a bat-like sixth sense.

Is something i'm not really sure about. How far should we let this go. Enabling people to have build in nightvision might be really handy for someone that's a nightguard but there are so many other things that it can be applied for.

Are we gonna get a world with super enhanced people that are faster and "better" than the real thing and how is this gonna effect people that can't afford these enhancements are we gonna get a subspecies within our own species with people that can't afford to have these changes done.

Sure thats all very far into the future, but how far should we let this go now?
