If you already have Sky (tv) you might want to wait and see if their services is going to be any good for broadband. Really decent packages for 5 - 10 quid a month apparently. Might be something worth looking into.
Broadband provider suggestions
I'm at that stage again where I'm looking for a broadband provider. Ideally I'd like something around 2Mbs with a decent/no download limit (or the option to buy more Gb) and that's fairly reliable (unlike tha Wanadoo connection that my folks have!). Does anybody have any recommendations?

try virgin.net
25 quid for thier top option, which gives up to 8Mb - if you get that speed, youve got 1Mb uploads, if you get less youre stuck with 256Kb.
and theyve got a 40Gb/month download limit, although if you avoid busy periods you can get away with a hell of a lot more...

Well after my ISP (e7even) went bust at the end of last month , I've just signed up with Tiscali, £14.99 for a 2mb with no limits (fair usage between 6pm and 11pm) and they throw in free weekend calls and 5p a hour evening calls.
The sky should be quite good but you need to be on a LLU exchange otherwise it's too expensive

try this lot: www.webtapestry.net. They are decent with their pricing etc. I know of one heavy user and they don't care about how much/little you download.
