The Hamster in 'critical condition'
Just found out that Richard Hammond (of Top Gear and Brainiac fame) has been involved in a jet powered car crash while filming for Top Gear and is in a hospital in Leeds in 'critical condition'
*fingers crossed* he pulls through.

Best of luck to the guy
Hope he'll be okay as although I really hated him in Brainacs I really liked the Hamster in Top Gear. Hopefully he won't pull an Irwin.
Update: Hammond improving after crash
I saw this on the news early this morning.
I *adore* him.
The family asked for no other updates to be released to the press so i wondered if that meant the worst and they wanted time to tell family first....
I really hope its not that

Oh Katie, you got a source for that news, as that is normally not a good sign.
This was the car he was driving in btw.

Its what the news reporter from the BBC said this morning on the morning news. They showed that footage too.
Well the BBC reports him having had a basic conversation with James May and smiling after Jeremy Clarkson insulted his driving skills so that's gotta be a promising sign right?
I do hope so I **LOVE** Richard Hammond

He's been moved out of Intensive Care and onto a General Medical Ward so that has to be a good sign.
Hubby and i have been following this story very closely over the last few days. He's a massive Top Gear fan (never misses an episode) and we both love Richard Hammond and it's almost like a member of the family has been hurt. I've read that Top Gear won't be back on the TV til Richard is recovered enough to appear, which is fair because it just wouldn't be the same without him. Here's to a quick recovery!!!

Good news! He's up and smiling and even walking already!
He's being moved to a hospital near to his home in Cheltnam apparently which will be great for his family.
I have to say, this is a remarkably quick recovery! Go The Hamster!!

Thats good to hear, ashame it could take up till 6 months of rest for him to get back to his "old self".
BTW There is a poll and a petition going on at the moment at: Petrol Prices.comto keep Top Gear on the air. Apparently some voices are going up to either tone the show down or can it completely as it idolises speeding which causes bad driving.

On a more serious note though the BBC just did another article on it in which Hamster himelf tells about his accident and his experience. Looks to have been very serious indeed
