For some reason I can't get quicktime to run on my laptop. Sure my computer is getting on a bit, but until recently is was fine, but over the last couple of months it just comes up with the Quicktime symbol faded out with a questionmark over it. Can anyone help?
Btw I'm running Windows XP SP2 on an HP Pavilion ze4200.

I must confess I don't know how to fix it, but if you're trying to run it specifically to watch Quicktime .mov files, I'd suggest trying a program called Media Player Classic - click here to download it.
thelostsailor If I didn't break it then you would have nothing to do!
I'm running version 7.1.3

Does this happen with all quicktime files? (also from the Apple Quicktime Trailer website?) Or are you trying to run for example an Computer Based Training course which uses quicktime? As for example VTC uses a special container around the quicktime file to make sure that you cannot copy / play it and you would need a special player, provided by them, to play it.
If your computer fails to play all quicktime files try using Quicktime alternative instead.

Your firewall isn't accidentally blocking your players is it as that would make streaming pretty much impossible.
