Ashame it's 'reality tv' and not reality

Given that we're coming up on the 40th anniversary of the Year of the Sex Olympics I think we can expect some really innovative reality TV.

We must congratulate the show's producers on their upstanding values and moral restraint in deciding not to set it on a tropical island, after all the issue of the impact on viewing figures of an island full of 14-16 year-olds in bikinis was surely considered by the producers.

In other news... where's that island the alphas went to when they quit society in Brave New World? Stop the world, I want to get off.

Now, I'm as tolerant of televisual sewage as the next chap. I even indulge myself by watching The Apprentice.

But inflicting this on a bunch of minors is just wrong, wrong, wrong. (As opposed to a bunch of miners, which would make great TV.) I hope Alan's tuna is deployed against the exploitative berks behind this show toot sweet.

As I was saying to a friend last night, yes the producers want shooting but none more so than the parents who volunteered their kids for this in the first place. Say, hypothetically speaking, that something bad happens, a kid is seriously hurt or dies and the parents sue the makers of the TV show. That would be interesting, wouldn't it?
