Thanks Had some trick to treaters at the door but seeing as we don't really do much Halloweeny and we're on a diet (so no sweets in the house) we kinda didn't bother opening the door. (felt a little bad about it though...)

Well, you could borrow some of mine. I've got a completely untouched bowl full. I love Halloween. So here I am sitting here in my orange and black get-up, with my big bowl of chocolate bars all at the ready--and not one trick-or-treater yet! It's still only 5:30 p.m. here. So there's still time for the little buggers to come and get their goodies. But so far, your jack-o-lantern has been the highlight of my day. Let's not even get into what that says about my day.

Wait a minute. I think I hear kids outside... Gotta go...

I had some trick 'n' treaters round, and getting into Scrooge-mode early, sent 'em packing.

The eggs were, at least, fresh.

Also helped out at the local church's anti-Hallowe'en party. (They were short handed.) Which was surreal.

I was kinda surprised about that as well..... Maybe it's got to do with the mythical powers surrounding all hallows eve which allows him to go into a church without catching flame.

apparently, i dont either.
at my mates sons christening a couple of years back, there was a lot of people left disappointed when i failed to provide any entertainment when i walked into the church.
i dont intend repeating the experiment any time soon though

Evangelicals & fundamentalists reckon that Hallowe'en's the work of the devil (well, yeah), but oddly don't reckon this a good thing. So ya get a party celebrating the light of the Lord ... but with apple bobbing. Go figure.

And no, I didn't combust upon entering. (It was in the church hall, not the building itself, mind.) Had a funny stomach after the apple bobbing though. I'm laying the blame on some sneaky holy water. The Almighty will be hearing from my legal people in due course.

Goodness. You try to have a nice, respectable, pagan-inspired, devil-worshiping, dancing-naked-around-bonfires-type holiday. And what happens? A bunch of fundamentalist do-gooders come around and suck all the fun out of it.

Oh, and the apple bobbing? That's just...weird.
