Hey ho.... *waves*
The "Who the hell still comes on here" thread...
.. and it's to do exactly what it says on the label.
So who is still around? Who still looks here everyday, or is it now a once a month thing? Whatever happened to some of the old school posters(SpaceDuck anyone?). Basically this is a roll call. So if you still check the site, post below with how often you come on and maybe a little bit about your life now.
So I probably check the site once a day, I lurk more often than I post nowadays unless there's something that catches my interest. In real life I'm living in Kent, selling fruit to supermarkets and getting drunk most weekends. Exciting stuff huh So what about you??

Well i had password recognition problems which i've just figured out, so i've only started revisiting again and for the majority of times, i lurk.
When i first started posting (firstly at BUK), there was hubby and my oldest. He (Joel) was six. He's now fourteen, in high school, taller than i am and doing so, so well. So as well as autism, we now have puberty on top of that...a lovely mix as you can imagine...not! Hannah is now close to turning the grand old age of seven. She's big for her age (fits in clothes for an eight year old), has hair down to her hips, is arty, funny, curious and asks a million questions and is mad on teddy bears...Build A Bear is her mecca. She's in year two now, really enjoys school and is a blessing, considering her early start, she's really come along. Me and hubs are still married (16 and a bit years now)and still muddling along, i'm still a stay at home mom, i while I still have a fascination for David Boreanaz (totally yummy in 'Bones'), now it's more towards Vincent D'Onofrio

Okay, i'm updating again.
Like i said in a previous post, i turned 40 last weekend. Big milestone and i don't feel any differently.
I've had some moderately serious health issues over the last nine months. I found out that i have stage three kidney disease (stage 5 is classed as end-stage) and i'm under the care of a renal consultant in Newcastle. I'm doing fine, my BP is normal, am not on any medication for it either. I feel well. Last month i underwent a minor operation on my throat called a parathyroidectomy, the parathyroid glands are four little lentil sized glands on or around your thyroid. Mine swelled up, caused me to have way too much calcium in my blood and made me extremely tired, stomach pains and joint pains. I spent three days in hospital, have a scar at the front of my throat but i feel fantastic now. All in all, i've had a crappy few months but i've got through it all well.
My kids continue to do well; Joel is now 15 and loves music. He hasn't any particular favourites but he loves watching the music channels on SKY. He's in his second year of high school and still loving it. He's almost as tall as Ray now and has settled right down, he's really chilled out. Hannah is now eight. She's doing well at school...loves Super Mario, Yoshi, Sonic the Hedgehog and her teddybears still. She also loves her books and is my best buddy. Her hair is now shoulder length, had it chopped a year ago, i got tired of the maintenance. Ray is also great, also 40 and the same old guy i fell in love and married. Our 18th wedding anniversary will be in August. I still lust after David B (though as Seeley Booth), Vincent D'Onofrio and Tom Welling. I'm still a bit of a tart in that respect LOL

Another update from me.
by Teresa
(quotes)
Well I got married and just found out today that the baby is a girl and due on Boxing Day.
Ivy finally arrived on Jan 6th after a very easy labour. 3 pushes and out she popped. My husband and Samphirette were there to witness the event. She is adorable and is such a good baby.
Boys (10yrs and 12yrs) are both doing well and settled in school.
We moved house from an estate to the middle of nowhere and we love it. I don't recommend getting married, giving birth and moving house in the space of 9 months 'tho. Very stressful but we're pulling it all back together again.
I have photos of the baby, house and other stuff here: www.flickr.com/photos/magirl/
Congratulations Teresa on the birth of your daughter, she's stunning
Glad to hear everything has worked out so wonderfully for you all

Well Posting a reply again, came on, I must say the graphics still look fantastic and someone is still doing the background stuff, but it seems such a shame as all the horses have bolted a long time ago.
remembering the fun days those years ago.

Updates? Well, there's this new thing called Facebook... they even made a film about it.
As for Sci-Fi (or syfy), 'Terra Nova' is all we seem to have now, on Sky at least. 'Eureka' is coming back on Syfy, I hope, and 'The Walking Dead' has returned.
Shame about 'Stargate; Universe'. It wasn't everyone's cup of tea, and they literally put the crew on hold for three years to see if the financial climate would bear a resurrection in 2014-ish...

After my contract at Wageningen University ended I moved in with my girlfriend in Germany and started a job at the Fraunhofer institute
That's quite some news in 1 line

I occasionally pop in, and hope somehow its revived, but remember it is largely dead.
Still in the North East, engaged in civil rigts work and campainging against gang violence including from the Largest Gang in the country that of the Police. Who get mose upset over being protested against in the interest of public safety and the Queen. They hated the arguments after they attacked a Soldier that they had attacked the Queen and the United Kingdom.
Hoping to be out of debt, but have a civil suite which may go badly and sink me, or if I win wont help much.

Hey Gopher dude
Well here I am. Not been on these boards for bloody years. To be honest I wasn't even sure this site still existed
Anyhoo - updated update for 2013:
James - is serving in Essex Police and studying for his sergeant's exam.
Alex - she was 8 when I joined this community. She's now 19 and in her 2nd year of Uni
Lily - is now 15 and the darling of the Air Training Corps
Christian - is 7 and loves Skylanders more than might be healthy.
Still got my old Livejournal vioketfrosting.livejournal.com and can also be found spamming Twitter @violetfrosting
Any other signs of life?

Well it's certainly been a while!
I'm now happily married to Susanna Hoffs. We have three children, Barry, Harry and Gertrude.

First time I've been here in... a while...
As it happens, I've only just discovered the FB Group for this place and have sent a join request. Hope to catch up with some of you soon.

Flying visit...i got to thinking about this place again, here as well as the old BuffyUK site were my first foray into internet fandom. That was fifteen and a bit years ago.
Well, i'm 45 now (gasp!) and still married to Ray (24 years in August). Joel is now the grand old age of 21, tall, skinny, in his second year of college (doing a basic skills for life course) and a happy chilled out young man who loves his ipod and his ipad. Hannah will be 14 next month, is taller than me, has bigger feet than me and in year 9 of high school now. She's still a bit of a tomboy, doesn't do boybands, is a bit of an emo kid with a love of anime and manga and she is still my best bud. We're closer now than when she was younger, we just completely get each other but of course that could change over time. I'm still a stay at home mum, busy and healthwise pretty stable.

Blimey, stunned that this place is still here! Stumbled across it randomly while searching for something on Google. Sad to see it so deserted- BuffyUK and then this place were pretty much my first online home.
Will have to check out the Facebook group that's been mentioned. Laters!

Still in Germany, working at the same research institute.

I'm surprised this site is still here.
So, I still see a few of the old users. Picture of Flowers now lives two streets away from me, which is useful.
My career is going ok. I have a comfortable job which pays well. My love life is the same as ever. I had a bit of a nightmare relationship a few years ago, and only flings since then. However there is a girl who I think is "The One", but I don't think it's the right time yet.
I've been studying Russian and am now onto the second level, although the grammar is a nightmare! I like to spend my time singing Russian pop songs by a Russian girl group called "Serebro" (don't worry, The Bangles still have a place in my heart!). They did a great song called "Mama Luba" it's about a boy and a girl spending time together when suddenly the guys mother walks in and shouts at the girl. The girl then refers to the guy as a "Mother Lover". It's a little more X-rated than that though.
I've also been trying to explore as much of the world as I can. It kinda started by exploring as much of Europe before Brexit and has now lead onto wanting to see everywhere. China was by far the most bizarre places I've been to so far, it was also a challenge getting around with so few people speaking English there.
I have a real passion for travel now and have met some amazing people from various cultures. I've come to believe that if you want to do something in life, don't wait. Do it before you're too old to do it.
Would be nice to see some new updates from others here if they still visit.

Can't believe I remembered my password.
It's still here! Wow.
Spike - envious of your trip to China, always dreamed of going but what you said about the language barrier was always my greatest fear, I tried learning Mandarin but never got very far,
the four tones makes it so ridiculously hard.
How is the Russian going? Do you know the Russian band little big? If not, I think you might like them.
Sadly life isn't good. My career and relationship crashed out due to a mental health breakdown. Parted on good terms though. I've never really recovered from the breakdown, I still love IT, but doing it for a job makes me ill. I live in a small apartment on my own now. Had a brief relationship that lasted a few months but we both had severe anxiety and depression and its not a good mix. My Dad and my Brother died a few years ago in close succession, which has been a heck of a blow, my sister Eleanor recently had a psychotic breakdown. She's received the help she needed and is doing MUCH better though, so that has been really positive. My beautiful niece is trying to kill herself on an almost weekly basis now, she too, seems to have inherited the frail mental health that seems to curse the family. I wish I could get through to her. I live a simple life now, I have no money, no car, the highlight of my week is playing board games with old pensioners at my local library group, they're some of the nicest people I've ever met.
Looking back on my life I realise I was an asshole when I was younger. I'm sorry you had to put up with me misskittyfantastic.
I wish everyone well and hope you're all doing OK. Incredible to think a TV show brought us all together.
Tycho - I can't remember if I got back to you in 2008 or saw your post, so if you ever read this, you can email me on myfirstname AT airstripone.org.uk
