I'm an athiest, so a big 'Hell Yeah' from me. I ate a nice big 16oz steak, cooked rare. It may as well have just been slaughtered
Good Friday-did you eat meat today???
We ate fish today. Does anyone know why people say you shouldn't eat meat on Good Friday? My mum went to a convent school so I suppose the nuns drilled these rules right into her! Even though she is a lapsed Catholic she still abides by a lot of these things.

Wow I'm suprised I always knew that the tradition was to eat fish on Good Friday
Although saying that my Mum was a Roman Catholic although not practising.

Had a McDonalds hamburger. Not sure if that counts as meat or not!
Drawing on my Catholic education I can tell you that the tradition of eating fish was for every Friday, not just Good Friday. It is no longer widely observed though, and I'm not sure what the basis for the belief was.

I did know not to eat meat since I was brought up Roman Catholic (but I don't go to church anymore).
I actually didn't eat any meat today but it was coincidence I think- mum just wanted pasta.
Oh and in other eastery news I got my easter egg- a Buffy one, really just cos I wanted the mug that came with it.

Nope, didn't eat meat. But then again I'm a veggie so it wouldn't make much difference any way
I didn't, but that was purely coincidental.
Have no religious convictions and didn't realise there was any tradition like that.

This one blew past me totally. And yes, I did eat meat, On a sandwich. Nice bit of turkey it was too.
BTW - Inc, would that be doofae? Or have you got your own answer?

i had a very tasty bbq chicken, fries and caslaw, at a resterant, shame it took 1 1/2 hrs to arrive! (sorry off subject rant!) i think its because of what they had in the last supper or something, ol Jesus being a simple person and all. no 4 course banquet for him!
i used to go to a church school, and thats what made me first an aethist and then a pagan! but some stuff still remains of church teachings!

I had sausages on Friday but the sound of Maff's steak is certainly making me hungry right now
When I was younger my mum always said we should eat fish fingers on a Friday which she said was a lighter meal to finish the week. Now I know she isn't religious so I'm not sure where this silly fasiniation came from but it was almost fanatic having them week after week.
