£140?! Jesus! That's the same price as two normal series boxsets!

Buffy complete dvd boxset - Series 1-7

Due in November 2004, a complete 39 dvd boxset is being released containing all 7 series of Buffy.
Only 10,000 copies are going to be produced at a cost of £199.99
EDIT - Amazon are already advertising this for £139.99
Anyone fancy clubbing together to get me a christmas present this year? ... no? pah ...
I've only got season 1 on dvd, so it will be interesting to see what the "leatherette box" looks like. If it's not too tacky it might be something worth trying to save up for

I know It averages to only £20 a series !!! Me want!
(give or take the fact season 1 was only a half series if you know what I mean)

i think this is great. i dont have any of the buffy seasons on disc yet so i wont be wasting any money. my mum has seasons 1-3 on disc, and she keeps asking why i want to buy the same ones as i can use hers, but i want to be able to take them when i move out. i also want to be able to watch them whenever i want instead of having to ask every time, so all in all, GREAT. it means i can get them all in one fell swoop!

i just checked amazon for the box set and unfortunately since this topic was posted the price has gone up from £140 to £300. this is quite a leap and i would like to know if anyone knows why the price jumped so high onsuch a short space of time

By the looks of it Amazon don't actually have any in stock themselves. The £300 ones are ones they're selling on behalf of other retailers. I'm guessing Amazon took so many pre-orders that they sold out and can't get any more (just a guess), it is a limited edition after all...
WHSmiths is selling it for about £160 though.

I noticed that on Amazon to, but as PoF says it's due to the stock they had. The box is limited to a certain amount worldwide!!
I've personally seen it in Virgin at the weekend for the original retail price of £199
There will probably be other sites with stock left. Otherwise try ebay where a lot have popped up.
