I think the first album I bought was either Queen's Greatest Hits, or one of the early Now/Hits compilations.

The first album I owned was the Spice Girls' first album

First album I think I owned was Voulez Vous by Abba

First album I *actually* asked for was Kings Of The Wild Frontier by Adam And The Ants. And it's still a classic.

The first record I bought was an ex-jukebox 7" (where you had to put the plastic thingy in the middle to play it on a normal record player), of Madonna's Gambler - the song that no one remembers.

Can't remember what my first cassette album was, but the first CD I bought was a bargain-bin compilation from Woolies called Product. I still have it too. It's got The Wedding Present, Pop Will Eat Itself, New Order etc on it.

The first CD i ever owned was one my auntie bought by the Bluebells - which has the song "Young At Heart" and my parents bought me "The Lion King Soundtrack"

First recorded music I ever bought with my own pocket money was actually two cassette albums:

Madonna - Like A Virgin
Eurythmics - Be Yourself Tonight

Had plenty of vinyl albums before that, that I used to play on my mum's record player, but they were the first ones I actually saved up and paid for.

As for the first band I obsessed about, there's been so many, but the earliest I actually remember was Adam and the Ants.

And I also reckon that Adam Ant was probably the first guy I had a (supressed) crush on...

The first record I remember buying was Michael Jackson's Bad.

First record I ever bought (well, tape) was 3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life Of... by Arrested Development. I might even still have it somewhere, but it's a long time since I've listened to it.

Not sure, I acquired a fair bit of vinyl, but I don't recall buying any, the first tape I bought was possibly the Top Gun soundtrack tough No idea about CDs, even though it's more recent!

Hooray! And you had a picture disc too. I remember them. Picture discs, coloured vinyl... those were the days

I have quite a few Madonna pic discs but they weren't my first thing to buy (I think Into the Groove single was the 3/4 one I bought)

My first 7" single was Duran Duran "The Reflex" (never bought any Duran after that )

First album was either Bon Jovi or Madonna (have to go check my record collection now )
