I used to love Erasure. They really have done some great stuff... must look out for that. Thanks.
Erasure are back!!!
Just in case anybody else likes them ... hopefully they will shine a little brighter than they did with their last album and single.
On the 6th January they are releasing a cover version of Salsibury Hill(sp?) and then later in the month they are releasing an album called 'Other People's Songs' which contains some stonking covers
Its well known in the music industry that the first week in Jan is very poor for single sales and as a result it takes fewer copies of the single to be sold in order for it to chart reasonabley highly. As the Foo Fighters, Westlife and David Sneddon are all releasing that week then Erasure ain't gonna hit No 1 but hopefully they'll chart at a reasonable level and not disappear into complete and utter obscurity

Another Erasure lover, although I haven't followed them since I Say, I Say, I Say. I'll check it out when the new stuff comes out, but I'm not sure I like the idea of a covers album... All sounds a bit too UB40.
Or Rage Against The Machine, or Limp Bizkit, there's a long list.

The Rage Against The Machine one isn't too bad, so if it's along those lines (in so much as that it is material that most people haven't heard, and in a new style) then I'll be very happy. Haven't heard the Limp Bisket one, but I doubt I want to.
It just depends how they tackle it. If it's just them doing a karaoke album of their favourite tunes, then that could be pretty poor. If they have something more to it (and I suspect and hope they do) then it could be pretty cool.

On the subject of covers albums (and muchos appologies for going off-topic), Guns n' Roses' The Spaghetti Incident? deserves a mention. Very cool. A bunch of not-very-well-known punk songs.
They are touring at the beginning of this year and i'm going to see them in February
