I know of them. I liked their song "stupid kid back then" it was good. They're a good band. Thumbs up from me
Alkaline Trio
Does anyone else like them? I'm sure I saw them mentioned on here before but can't remember
Anyway, I have just got my grubby mitts on a pre-release copy of their new album "Good Mourning" and its great. They're touring to promote it in May and with a bit of luck my exs band are trying to blag local support at a couple of gigs (I hope so. I hate paying for tickets, lol)

I LOVE THE ALKALINE TRIO!!!!!
Seriously. I have never been quite so obsessed with a band. I have every single album, the split EP with Hot Water Music, Matt Skiba's solo album, album release posters, stickers, badges, hoodies, t shirts... As I am typing this, I am wearing two articles of Alkaline Trio clothing.
So, yes. You could call me an obsessive fan..
I know they're playing a show at the University of London students union but I can't get there as it's right in the middle of my exams and I'm already going to see Brand New and Taking Back Sunday that month (in other words, I'm broke).
I have, however, already got the funds ready to buy Good Mourning on the day of release.
Teresa, if you're thinking of buying any of their other stuff, then their last one "From Here to Infirmary" and the older one "Goddamnit" come highly recommended, however all their songs are awesome so you can't really go wrong.
If anyone somehow mysteriously gets word of their UK tour dates before I do then please TELL ME. I need to know.

EDIT - Thought I did. Last weeks Kerrang has an ad for them doing a one-off gig at ULU on Sunday 11th of May.

i do like them although not as obsessed as linz
Downloaded quite a few of their songs and wanted at least one of their albums, but never got round to buying any - i'm lazy

when is the new album coming out anyway? I'm not exactly an obsessed fan, or a massove fan, but i have "from here to infirmary" and i like that (though have not listened to it for some time) so will probably be buying the new one.
Now, explain this to me: why do we get the releases a day before the US? We got the last blink album a day before the US and now the UK release for Good Mourning is May 12 when it's being advertised on their site as May 13th.
It's not a complaint, of course (though I quite liked the concept of ALK3 releasing something on the 13th [clearly Matt Skiba's lucky number]) but I'm confused as to why exactly we seem to get all our releases early.
Oh- also, anyone who wants to hear a sneak peak of a new song should visit www.alkalinetrio.com - the new flash intro contains a clip of the new song.
(I keep going back to listen again- I'm just that sad.)

Saw them there last night. It was a last minute decision to go as it was sold out but the "sort of" ex managed to get tickets through his record label so we went. As far as I remember they were quite good

They got interviewed on the Lockup (Radio 1) after the ULU show (2-4am.. I stayed up to listen because I might just love them too much) and Matt said they're currently in the process of booking shows for a full UK tour in September. If that goes through I'll be extremely happy
