This made me happy 'cos I thought I might have to leave Download early on the Sunday before they came on

Limp Bizkit pull out of Download
LB have pulled out of the Download festival this year.
They stated that they need to use the time 'working on their new material'
However according to their official website they said that they will play a free show later in the year....yeah right.

Yeah I read this today too. Personally I think this now makes the Sunday line-up look very weak. The only bands I'd like to see there are NOFX, The Darkness, TSOL, Hell is for Heroes and Less Than Jake. And I wouldn't really go out of my way to see any of them.
However I notice that on the website they've left a gap where Limp Bizkit's name was. So either they just haven't properly redisgned the page yet or they're planning to get another headline act...

Far as I know given the short notice they're simply going to upgrade Audioslave to headliners.

but how cool if the Metallica rumour was true?As it is NOFX will *always* get me to a festival. I also love Zwan *note to self - don't get drunk and not remember seeing them like you did in Orlando*
Less Than Jake & Audioslave are both cool plus we have to shout out to Jazzs label mates Not Katies. I'm looking forward to it (free stuff is always great) 'tho there is a rumour we're camping out afterwards

Or for a non-sarccy reply, we're talking about the Download festival. A rock/metal type festival being held at Donnington at the end of this month.

Personally, I don't think Audioslave warrant being upgraded to headliners. They haven't been around (ok, allbeit altogether) for long, and also the fact that Limp Bizkit have a far bigger fanbase.
I think the reason Metallica is rumoured maybe is cos their album is due for release close to the festival. This effectively leaves a lot of lesser known bands for the Sunday now though.
