I heard the rumours that they were going to play as an offical act, and seeing as they were being put around by reputable sources, I fell for it.
However I also then took as gospel when the organiser point blank denied they would be there and issued an official statement saying so.
I should have known better. It was always going to be highly unlikely that they would be here purely to do a TV spot (Which was done last night for C4 at the Riverside Studios in London)

Apparently what has happened is that because Metallica are under contract to Mean Fiddler for Leeds/Reading the festival organisers couldn't announce them as being there. Instead they announced Apocalyptica (which I actually missed) who are a cello quartet who have covered a number of Metallica songs in the past. Obviously Metallica took their place at the last minute; the set was meant to be about 45 minutes long
